watching the recent eps of zhuyu & i can already tell that they are already speeding through important arcs…
It is the same scriptwriter as zhuyu, but also other bangers like lltg, rise of phoenix, and even older classics like schemes of beauty so although zhou ye does not always have perfect pacing and tends to favor the first halves of IPs more, when they have more space (like lltg), they've done pretty okay in the past :)
We are almost certainly going to see some plot compression/arc compression though. I think maybe 4 arcs is doable, 5-6 is so hard these days for most dramas

after he storms the palace, he puts a collar on her and keeps her chained to the throne where upon they get ~ Very Spicy All Night ~ or something like that

yeah i found sites that look like they have the raws, but i haven't seen any translations. my chinese is fairly rudimentary, but it was really fragmented and strange. no mention of wenyu or xiaoli at all. so much so that i felt like they were maybe mistakenly uploaded lolol or maybe it is a preview/teaser of short story independent of the novel? idk maybe someone with better chinese than me knows OTL
I really like her styling in here. Very dainty and feminine, yet intelligent and mentally strong. Her overall…
Agree! I remember once thinking her face was very "modern pretty" which I think is mostly a carry over from the idol / kpop training arc. The styling in POJ totally changed my impression of the range of her vibes.
Qianqian MY QUEEEEEN - she's really captivating me in the drama adaptation although I don't recall being this invested in her storyline in the novel. Superb job improving on the character and vibes
This drama is currently topped #1 for the prime time satellite tv rating for the 6th time. View the photo just…
I truly think this is out performing the budget and the number of episodes allotted to condense the novel story. The lighting and framing sometimes is better than what I see in some S or S+ shows. I like that there is some clear sense of narrative in the way it is shot and edited. While both leads are not A-list actors, they suit their roles well enough and their on screen harmony/chemistry plus the directing is pulling a lot of weight.
If compared to something with budget it's not really a fair 1:1 rating. For the cost and the resources that went into it, it's one of the better and more enjoyable modern dramas lately (I really liked the novel and was braced for disappointment, instead this has pleasantly surprised me).
Super happy to hear that it is getting some recognition in China too, especially with several hot hits from major platforms competing.
I love that in a moment of crisis, they turn to each other so instinctively, the sisterhood and love between these two is beautiful. The scenes when they laugh or cry together about their past and future π₯Ή
But too excited to see Bi Wenjun as male leads in a modern drama so gonna ignored that stupid dramaβs title.…
I think he is actually a pretty well casted visual for the way LJY is described in the novel. The refined rogue with high degree of "coldness" vibe - ZYX doesn't have the figure of YM, but I think she can portray the "older sister teasing" side well. Am excited to see them together and frankly a little sad it's only 24 episodes π₯Ή
I screamed when he said to shut him up with kisses. Ma boi πππ
And when RY bantering about how he is learning well from Shisan... "do I need to learn from him?" after that hot kiss !!! SO SMOOTH, NYZ, I did not know you had that in you.

i feel like the least they could give us is an innocuous little flower eating freak....... they owe it to us. i will riot.
