Thank you. I must have started 5 or 6 and I dropped them all after 3 episodes. Mire or less. Even though I finished this one and I liked it quite a lot, I don't think I'll be watching another one so soon: the stress was exhausting!🤣🤣🤣

Change the main characters' jobs and this review fits every single TBL. Thank you for bringing Mani & Pedi back...a good laugh with my favourite couple is just what the doctor ordered! 🥰🥰
You are most welcome! 😀 I should probably edit this to say that I would not watch this again! It often serms,…
Spot on! No mafia, so far, but a shady businessman trying to kill his younger brother, very medieval power struggle. Maybe local thugs for hire? The deaf boy gives as much as he gets so he is not too helpless...OMG, the music...I ranted about it on drama page . It would have been so interesting to use silences as in deaf character.....At least no stepbrothers in mafia, so it is new...I am desperate, scraping the bottom of the barrel...🤣🤣🤣
Lol. Believe it or not, KinnPorsche was my first BL! And I was so confused as to why the whole show was unbelievably…
You are most welcome! 😀 I should probably edit this to say that I would not watch this again! It often serms, in these BLs, that the more the muscles are visible on these actors, the fewer acting skills they have. Bad enough I finished it once in spite of thick eyebrows.🤣..at least TharnType with all its toxicity has the chemistry never equaled , in the BL world! I guess TT was MY gateway drug. (I love that expression!😂) I am currently watching See Your Love a taiwanese BL featuring a love story between a poor deaf boy and a rich brat. A surprise, since there are no step brothers in love. It is watchable...so far!;-)
The music is taking the whole drama over: too much of it and too loud! I don't think there is a single second without music here! 2 points OFF! Otherwise, it is cute, totally ridiculous but fun....
So you dropped it after all!🤣I finished it (those short episodes are easily bingeable (lol) and though it was not as awful as Takara No Vidro, it was bad. Beside the usual depressive atmosphere and horrible parents, which you pointed out (what would a JBL be without it?), I found the casting terrible. The story takes place in high school and then there is a 5 year time jump: one actor was a convincing teen but as an adult he looked more like a kid trying out his father's suit while the other one looks too old to be a teen and as an adult, he looks positively a cradle snatching creep. Afterwards I looked up some other reviews and comments and everyone is raving about how perfect it is, how deep, subtle, beautiful and poetic everything was...and I kept thinking "have we seen the same drama?". 🤣🤣"But we are both men?" was probably the line which sealed the deal for me. They had exactly the same line in Takara's Treasure. In 2024?!?!? Are the Japanese regressing or something?
Is this what they call a "slap-kiss" lakorn? Poor Bert has been slapped repeatedly by the rest of the characters! So many times! His cheeks are about to fall off!🤣🤣
This drama somehow fits into the "so bad that it is good" and is, hands down, the worst drama I have watched AND finished! And I have seen (and dropped!) many! The casting director probably said: Let's take the worst actors who show up at the audition! The budget was probably around 1$ and it shows! The sound is awful. The editor slept through the editing. There is zero camera work and the director must have called in sick for the duration of the filming!
The only bright spot here is the handsome, very handsome actor who plays Ken. Does anyone know who he is?
I am so proud of myself. I managed to finish my first lakorn! Great start, draggy, very draggy middle and then final episodes on steroids! I loved the FL: surprisingly very little idiotic behaviour from her. She was strong, smart, calm, realistic. I particularly appreciated her calling the ambulance after an accident and not crying, picking up and shaking the victim while shouting their name! The first ever in my drama watching career! I don't remember any other drama with a similar reaction!
I want also to rave about the actor playing the young version of the evil guy, Parn Khomkrit Duangsuwan. WOW! His profile picture does not do him justice! So good-looking, amazingly expressive eyes and oodles of talent. Why isn't he a leading man? Actually, he reminded me of Kim Ji Hoon from Flowers of Evil....same vibe!
Same but he has that crazy look in his eyes... perfect for playing a psycho like thana
Yes that's right! He gives me the same feeling as Kim Ji Hoon did in Flower of Evil. I remember thinking he is too beautiful to be evil. Same here! Great casting!
Sorry, I was busy with the holidays and got DMs... You asked me recommendation on fusion sageuk... I had one right…
Google found this list for me: https://kisskh.at/list/1Xz60Em3 What do you think about the dramas on this list? There are some entries I would not have thought were fusion sageuks but since I do not know much about the topic, I am asking an expert, namely you!;-)🥰Thank you...
Luwuang discord server is even more difficult to gain access to than Drama Otaku. They must relish the power they have over drama addicts to set such demanding conditions we need to meet in order to watch the dramas they subbed. I'd prefer paying on kofi/Patreon to spending my days on social media creating content and presence.
Hi Selbee! Happy new year to you too. How have you been? Yes, I've been a bit silent of late, because of one grave…
A break? Yes, probably! Too many low quality BLs will have that effect on you! Currently, I can only watch short dramas (attention span of a goldfish!) and I am not even considering watching anything Thai (too long: 12 x45min of dross is too much for me now!). That's why I found these micro BLs interesting: short and to the point. A little bit like those youtube cuts of popular dramas: they keep the grain and throw away all the chaff!
It is just that the format is something I cannot get used to. I watch everything on my laptop, nothing on my phone: I am a bit old school like that! Though I must give it to the iPhone directors: when they are talented, the works they make are sometimes intriguing! I saw a couple of Japanese time travel films: I liked the storytelling and the cinematography, and was surprised when I found out in the final credits blooper reel that they were filmed with an iPhone (horizontally!). This director is definitely not a Kurosawa, but are there any, anywhere in the world today, who have such talent and originality?
I finished Miseinen and frankly, you are not missing anything: it is annoyingly full of tropes (well, you made a bingo about it so you know!!).
I noticed you changed your profile picture. I like the art!

The magic recipe: 1.5x speed watching! I should have thought of that.... I can see how those baby baby can turn out to be the background music.....🤣🤣
Watching? Probably just scraping the bottom of the BL barrel! I've been checking out those vertically filmed korean BLs and I was horrified to be surprised by them being not half bad! Better than the majority of KBLs in any case.... If you watch the merged version and not 2min episodes and if you manage to get used to vertical film format (which I hate with all my might), the stories are well written and acted (these korean actors definitely do not fall under the 10 commandments you wrote about!) with an incredibly good cinematography for what it is: a low budget web drama. Two that are the most interesting are Match Play and Buddy Boy. Check them out if you are intrigued, as I was. You can find these merged version on dailymotion. They make a short and novel distraction. An oddity. A fad I hope disappears soon!

I am glad to hear things have been settling down for you.
The review has your distinct touch to it and it was a very much needed laugh. I admire you for being able to find your funny bone in spite of crisis. So hoping for the best in this new year!
Not even Kokoy de Santos could not appease my extremely annoyed brain after listening to "Baby" a million times. You are a more generous person than I am!
Sorry, I was busy with the holidays and got DMs... You asked me recommendation on fusion sageuk... I had one right…
Thanks for the rec but I already tried that one: it sounded like something I might like but unfortunately, I did not like the FL at all so I dropped it! Thanks anyway for trying! I appreciate it!
Happy New Year! I hope you are doing well! I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I have been low-key stalking your profile for the past month, hoping to see another one of your reviews that save one's sanity!
Finally, it is here! Just at the moment when I needed it the most: the evening before going back to work after a 10-day holiday.... Thank you for this much needed pick-me-up!
Like In The Movies was one of the first BLs I'd watched and even though I enjoyed it, I remember not quite getting what the hype was all about! I never rewatched it nor was I ever tempted to do so. Though maybe after reading your review....
Gameboys is another Pinoy drama held in high esteem here! Not by me, though! Have you seen it?
Unfortunately, this format is so popular with apps like DramaBox or Drama shorts because it sucks people in to…
I think it is such a waste of talent especially in this drama where everything was so good: acting, writing, cinematography, directing...so much better than many korean web dramas in general and BLs in particular. I have been watching other vertical bls released recently which were released merged by a kind soul and some of them(not many!) are frankly very interesting (Buddy Boy, I'm Your Pet) because of the effort put in to be creative while filming.
I get the appeal of the vertical format for the young generation who have their smartphones glued to their palms and therefore I hope that the creators of these micro dramas (i.e. actors, directors, cameraman) will go and do bigger and better things and in the right format so many more people can enjoy the fruits of their talents.
I am considering dropping this because of the music: that cello classical screeching music and the piano&flute joyful and yet scary music are just awful! Don't get me wrong, I love classical music but here it is completely out of synch with the vibe of the drama! The music should be ominous and not so loud and frankly overpowering so much so, that one cannot concentrate on the plot: it is giving me a headache! Too well known music ruins the drama!
No, I cannot watch this! The music is ruining it all! On to something better! DROPPED after 45min!
Exactly what I was talking about: I could not see anything of what this reviewer writes about. Blind or too cynical, that is the question!
