Thank you so much for writing this: I did not like this bl either and could not fathom, for the life of me, why people rave about it: Toxic, illogical, zero chemistry, loads of awful acting...the only thing I liked about this drama are the titles of episodes( famous movies!) the rest is just garbage!!!!
The first ever drama I watched and finished was Black : I hated it and couldn't understand weird behaviour or the story so I dropped drama completely for over two years. Than thanks to pandemic and excessively PC/woke US shows, I tried again with CLOY. And I haven't looked back since! It has been almost two years now. I tried to go back to western shows during a slump, but no can do! Totally addicted to Kdrama!
A good watch, draggy second half, very predictable, cute actors, underused female characters, some plot holes. All in all entertaining but you should not use your brain too much while watching! Be warned!
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Kdramas' second season is a sacrilege ! It is NONSENSE! STOP applying western (i.e. American) norms & values to Asia. We all (or at least the vast majority of us here) watch Kdramas exactly because they DO NOT have a second season. Under Netflix's influence they are doing it more and more (Hospital Playlist comes to mind: I watched it and then discovered there was going to be a second season and I was furious for the time I wasted!). PLEASE NO SECOND SEASONS!
Thank you for this review. Just like you, I have learned to be wary of high rated drama because every time I was really disappointed! This one was surprisingly funny in the first episode but very quickly it became draggy and repetitive.. I always read reviews like yours because they show the drama behind the hype!
I wanted to watch this, but I just found out there was going to be a second season. True or false? Isn't this drama a complete story, no cliffhanger ending?
I am currently watching Children of Nobody which is really good. I love a good crime drama: Kairos is one of my favourites and recently I saw Chimera (extraordinary!); Falsify and Crime Puzzle.... all thrilling! Supernatural thrillers I try and then drop (Memorist) and time slip I love (Tunnel, Train) but hate remakes of UK shows (Life On Mars, Less than Evil/Luther...) There are so many and now that OCN is back there will be more good crime thrillers to look forward to! Great article by the way!
I was looking forward to this but the previous comment is making me doubt. FUTS was a disaster of a drama so I hope it is not going to happen here. But I am now expecting and dreading the worst!
Dropping this: 29min into the first episode, the FL jumps like a Spiderman on the ML. I am all for fantasy but isn't this supposed to be your run-of-the-mill romcom?!?
