i said that i wasnt going to watch it if they dated. normally i would have ignored another comment but seeing that someone tried to justify brothers dating, i had to respond. im not planning to watch this anymore since finding out what it is. even if it isnt a big deal and they dont know, the viewers still know and its the viewers being like "ship it!". even if they didnt live as brothers, they are still now [if their parents did marry] legally brothers so no matter what, they ARE family under the law which would still make it incest. but it would be a whole other case if their parents didnt marry.

my favourite drama is The Lover! the plot is pretty out there and its a little rough around the edges, and it is pretty slow paced but i totally couldn't imagine it with any other plot. the cast also work so unbelievably well together. even my mother loves it!! it made me laugh during some sad times, and it is definitely my go to "happy drama".
i dont understand why everyone is saying the ending was terrible. xue said from the beginning that once he had his revenge he would be leaving. he also said that he had to leave jing zhi because he couldn't give her a short life. but now that she's like him, they can be together without any excuses! i guess its an open ending so think what you want as for what happens after the ending. in my eyes, i think that jing zhi becoming like xue implied that they'd be together. but who knows? maybe there will be a season 2 to confirm any theories!
