I'll never know why the oscar for best international movie exists because international films can be nominated…
international films are rarely nominated for best picture, and Parasite has been the only non-english movie to win the category, so basically I believe they created Best International Movie to sugarcoat their xenophobia towards non-english movies
i honestly wouldn't recommend mentioning that there's a major plot twist while recommending this drama to another person. knowing that there will be a plot twist leaves you expecting something shocking to happen and wondering what would it be. i watched this totally unaware that there would be a plot twist, and i was so shocked and i cried like a baby. and this definitely helped this drama to become one of my all-time favorite dramas
people really should stop judging the drama by some unfunded rumours. there is no evidence that the drama will romanticize and glorify the NSA, they have been portraited as the villains since the beginning of episode 1. plus, the blue house had access to the script and approved it... just wait to see how the plot will unfold so you can say it's problematic, cause so far there is only criticism to the dictatorship 🤦♂️
Can someone explain the facts and how it's distorting history? I don't know the history
i have educated myself about this part of korean history and read the whole thread. and if that whole thing is true, then they are totally wrong for doing that and koreans have all the right to want it to be cancelled. HOWEVER, these are just speculations about how will the plot unfold. there is no evidence yet that all of that will occur. let's see and wait, cause for now, the drama has been critical about the far right regime and the only thing that happened is a kind of flashback about sooho's youth in north korea, but he might also be a North Korean deserter but not an actual communist spy, as well as that scene might also be a misleading flashback. if all of that is true, i will be very disappointed and won't be supporting it, but we have to keep in mind that those are just rumours and speculations
the person who wrote this drama & the famous actos who chose to act in this drama are all sick ( i can forgive…
I see that you didn't even watch the drama lol. yes, I've read the thread on twitter, but were the characters description actually published by JTBC? if so, they are totally wrong for doing that and they should apologize. however, people can't judge whether a drama should be cancelled or not just by this description. the drama is actually NOT Yushin propaganda, afterall it is obvious since the beginning that the NSA people are the villains and the criticism towards the dictatorship is clear throughout the two episodes. I suggest you watch the two episodes before saying the >>>drama itself<<< glorifies the NSA. you can't judge a book by its cover.

i really can't understand people who say Penthouse got boring and forced at season 3... I admit seasons 1 & 2 are better, but this season is almost as good as the latter ones, and it's just as entertaining, or even more entertaining than S1 & S2, specially in these last episodes, revenge is finally here 🔥 yes, if it weren't for the last few minutes of season 2, that would be a perfect ending, but I don't think it should have ended, it still entertains me A LOT every weekend and I don't think it has gotten really repetitive at some point. the drama was always supposed to have 3 seasons, even before knowing it would be a massive hit. yes, this drama is absurd, but if you're still looking for some logic at season 3, I think you have never understood the concept of the show. Penthouse is simply absurdism in the form of a k-drama, that should have been noticed in season 1... anyway, I don't care about many people's opinions about these factors, Penthouse is still one of my favorite kdramas EVER. sorry for the rant lol I just had to.
(btw episode 2 really sucked so I agree with its criticism, but this season as a whole is still great)
i want to watch it, but i already know the main spoiler (the boy who Dal-Mi ends up with) and the low ratings in the reviews also discourage me... is it still worth watching, even knowing the main spoiler?
i liked it just a LITTLE BIT but JTBC saying it would be the new Sky Castle is nothing but disrespect to one of the best kdramas ever made..... the final is terrible
