Exactly. Even the historical one (Fengdengji) which ZLS said in her livestream that she wants to film , has a nice & unique storyline. It little bit reminded me of kdrama Taxi driver where they used to undertake cases & take revenge for the victim. Infact all the storyline of the drama IPs acquired by ZLS studio are quite different from what we see in the cdrama industry. I think she's in a position where she needs good quality drama scripts instead of quantity since she's quite established & has both domestic and international popularity.

I wonder if the director was trying to do some experiment with this drama. Even though his previously directed dramas are not highly rated here. But he has some hit dramas like Bloody romance and Rookie agent rouge. Rookie agent rouge is also an republican era drama. But it was nicely done.
