honestly you can watch each chapter separately without watching the others. that’s why many cfans just prefer to watch a specific chapter it’s not a continuous season where you have to watch yuehong to understand zhuye (the chars in these chapters don’t even overlap at all) kind of similar to how you don’t need to watch ancient love poetry to understand the last immortal and vice versa. i would say the drama ver chapters are somewhat independent. but i would say zhuye and wangquan are more connected to each other than yuehong with the other two since zhuye’s chapter = wangquan fugui’s parents chapter.
