Xu Weizhou's new military drama, Where I Stand is China, started filming yesterday. He plays the lead character, Yuan Changning, spanning from youth to retirement. Tentatively set for 40 episodes. Congrats!

We heard it almost immediately after the first season ended that second part will be film. I personally think the end of this season has a good closure. Plus, this part didn't broadcast well nor accumulated enough online views compared to season one. If there's a third part then good luck.

Congratulations to Xu Weizhou! He won the Best Breakout Actor award at The 4th Golden Flowering Awards yesterday 12/20 in Macau for his role as Bai Minhe. He also won another similar award earlier this year in April for the same role. Congrats! They are not big awards but absolutely a recognition in the industry for his work. Look forward to many more awards in the future to eventually getting best actor. Jia you!

No opinion on other characters/actors. ML is great.PS. Your name looks familiar. Have I seen you somewhere before?…
Definitely! Glad I'm not the only one thinking this way. Xu Weizhou's portrayal befits Pei Xingjian's nobility, military and civil status. Pei Xingjian has a sense of elegance and I agree his acting is very conventional and classical. I'm glad he chose this way of acting. It's very beautiful to watch.

I'm actually the opposite. I can easily lose myself in his character creation. His eyes are quite expressive. Whether Pei Xingjian is happy, sad or calulating it's all readable to me. Maybe his way of acting is very different from the current way many popular actors in costume drama act nowadays. Rather he has a similar technique to olden days of Chinese costume drama characters I'm familiar with. Instead of overtly expressive it's very subtle with expressive eyes .

Not sure too but your name looks somewhat familiar. We may have interacted a long while ago.

Edit: Now that I thought about it, it's not really an "olden" method. I'm not sure if you have seen Nirvana in Fire but it is a good example. Many of the main characters have this way of acting.

Why is it I feel the ending giving a vibe of possible season 3? Or it's just me?
Have not heard of a continuation. I hope not, I beg them. Season one was butchered beyond recognition, second tried hard to restored the novel but still fell short. I think this is it.

Do you know what Blasting Squad is about? Is it a big budget commercial movie? Did he announce it in a post or…
Welcome! ZhouZhou's fans are called Bai Zhou (white congee). Concidentally, I also got interested in him and want to know more of him through Addicted. Even though before that I saw him briefly on two music variety shows, it was still the first web drama he debut that draws me. Bai Luo Yin is indeed a charming character played by the then unknown college student Xu Weizhou.

The more information I dig about him the more I realized what a treasure he is. A hidden gem. He is a funny, cute, handsome, and often still very shy young man. What attracts me was his serious work attitude. Most of all he is multi-talented in music, dance and acting among a whole host of other hobbies. He is very versatile.

He is self-employed in an entertainment where almost all lead actors/actresses have big agency behind them. Since his debut he has to settle with limited resources and other struggles. I feel now he is in the best state as it is mainly due to his hard work and dedication to acting that he stand out and able to get leading roles. He is not aiming to be top popular male actor. He is taking small step at a time to hone his acting skills. If you look at his drama works you can tell he has talent. From his earlier work to the latest he's improved tremendously. I also have the same thought as you. Good works do not equate high budget, vice versa. Acting is a long term career. Achievement shouldn't be taken granted so early. It's about the grinding and perfecting over the years through accumulated work experience that one can be call an actor. I look forward to his future works as an actor and musician.

As far as I know there isn't a non-Chinese fan organzation for him. I follow him on Weibo. I get all his news first hand there. Once I get anything new I usually share in here or other places so international fans know. He has a small fan base and barely any publicity compare to other Chinese celebrities so to follow him you'd have to do extra digging around. Personally, I like this better as I don't like fan culture.

PS. Haha, yes, I also think a comedy would be a comfortable fit for him as he is a funny guy himself. Let's follow him along on his journey. There will be and are bumps along the way but he's as sturdy as a rock. Xu Weizhou has a stubborn rock spirit so I look forward to his endeavor as an actor. And singer.

From what I can see so far Blasting Squad is a medium film budget. Not too big of a budget but not small either. We'll see the final product to determine. If it's filmed good it doesn't matter if it has a big budget or not.

About his next potential project. He mentioned on his Weibo account about looking for and filming another costume drama because there are aspects of the latest costume not up to satisfaction. However, it's still hearsay. We fans might overread it but based on previous experience whenever he says he's going to do something there are always news confirming it at a later time. For now put this project on hold until an official announcement. Whenever that will be.

PS: I forgot to answer your first question. Blasting Squad is about the heroic deeds of a group of revolutionaries. He plays the sacrificial main lead.

Unfortunately, there isn't a full recording, official or fans. Filming is forbidden. There are some bits and pieces on some fan blogs, the official blog and his studio's on weibo. And yes, I have to agree. I watched the one in Beijing and I have to say he's phenomenal. The cast were perfect. Almost all rave reviews from fans and non-fans alike.

Yes, the first wife was mentioned briefly in season 1. It was when they were visiting PXJ's mentor General Su's house before their marriage ceremony. Second season expand on that.

i am so confused by this princess storyline that the fl keeps accompanying…aren’t the ml and fl ordinary peeps?…
The Pei is a scholarly noble family connected with the royal family. His parent died when he was young so the princess took charge of PXJ's inheritance and other properties his deceased parents left him. He is both a scholar and military strategist. He worked as a royal guard in season 1 to the then crown prince, now emperor, because of the threat from the other prince. Aside from that role he is also a general (this part is not depicted in the drama) and now a county magistrate of Chang'an (capital city of the empire). PXJ's first wife suffered (then committed suicide) at the hands of the princess what the FL is currently experiencing because if there is an offspring that wealth will transfer back to them.

About this storyline with her, I personally don't like it. I think it should have been trim down to a couple episodes as there's no conclusion to it.
