Hey, thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed comment! I just wanted to let you know that I agree that The Untamed is a good drama with a strong storyline and well-rounded characters. My comments on the pacing are concerned less with the details but rather the technique; the drama has a habit of lingering on certain scenes long after the audience would have understood everything it intended to convey. That said, some people may appreciate this. I did not, which is why I said "could turn away" audiences as opposed to "would." Film viewing is very much a subjective experience.

I maintain that WZC has a lot of room to improve in his performance, as does WHX. I can certainly understand why you interpreted their performances in the way you did, but it personally did not land with me. WHX's shortcomings were made particularly obvious when compared with SJY playing him while he was pretending to be XXC, because it was in that moment I could feel the disturbed nature of XY's character more than anything that WHX had done with the role.

Thank you for linking the analyses on details; I did not watch The Untamed with an overly critical approach so I will take a look at those. Maybe it'll make me decide to rewatch, but the sheer length of it is sort of discouraging at the moment LOL.

As for the budget, I don't think I said that The Untamed was a low-budget production. It most certainly is not. It's as you said, I don't think they allocated very much money to the CGI. Considering the first scene in the drama is a CGI battle, I had a rather poor first impression because of how bad the CGI was there. It's fine to spend more money on things such as costuming and set design, which I think were done amazingly. It's just sad the CGI turned out the way it did.
