I'm in the middle of 9th ep and I just feel at this point the writer is just trying to extend the story to get to the 16 episodes mark? I think it'd work so much better if that was a shorter drama
In what way did you find it disturbing? Because they show her loving food and overeating?
Ok, fat people overeat, but so what? Why is this a point so important that you made a WHOLE character's personality around that? So skinny people don't love food? They don't eat snacks or candies? Why we don't see skinny characters eating, they have different bodies that don't need food? And I know a lot of fat people, their buttons don't explode out of nowhere when they're in a chair, cause I don't know if you know, they can wear clothes suitable for their bodies... I recommend you to do the same since it's a concern in your life. And again, regardless all the deep meaning behind putting a fat girl as the center of comedy, I'd still like to ask, where's the comedy? A joke was supposed to be funny, but as I said in my other comment, this joke is so much used that it's not even laughable. If it's a NEED in your show to make fun of fat people, at least give us something we've never seen before, try to caught us by surprise not the most used fat people's joke ever
And don't worry, I've dropped this show after the first couple minutes, as you said life is too short to waste time on upsetting things, but I think it's important to discuss this and I really hope someday you see that you don't need to be a joke to be seen, neither need to bury your head in the sand to be respected, you can be portrait in a show as someone whose got other aspirations in life besides food, because I bet you got
It wasn't the ML actor that had me switching this off after just 1 episode like I expected. No, it was the sister.…
THANK YOU! It's really concerning how many people don't care or even endorse this type of stereotype till this day. I saw so many good reviews, but I can't believe in the first ep they already messed up everything only for some unfunny jokes. And I bet if it was any other problematic stereotype and prejudice like misogyny, racism or anything like that, people wouldn't still act the way they're doing here in the comments.
In what way did you find it disturbing? Because they show her loving food and overeating?
Exactly, fat people don't always has food in their mouth and hands, they can have a life where they eat a few times a day like everyone else does. And the jokes with buttons in her blouse exploding is soooo 70s type of joke (I'm also at the first ep, so I can't say if it gets any better, but I'd love to know, so if don't I can skip all her scenes cause I can't handle this bullshit)
Respectfully I disagree. She has a deeper understanding of suicide then most characters in the show. Also as someone…
I think that's the case for YOU, but you can't affirm it's the same for every depressed person in the world. Indeed, you only reach that low if you don't seek help before it happens and not everyone who's at their lowest as the characters in the show needs to hear cruel things cause it makes'em "a person to be ready" like Koo Ryeon did sometimes. But anyway, that's not the point of the show neither the character Koo Ryeon, since therapy is never mentioned throughout the drama and all the characters seem to recovery really fast for such deep traumatic episodes...
And to be clear, I loved the show and Koo Ryeon backstory and personality, although I still think she didn't handle some cases as carefully as she should have, but she did incredible things to help people and I respect that.
Ah, and sorry for not saying before but I hope you're doing better now ❤️

I see she's very sensitive about it, but there are eps where the characters almost died fr, like the singer in the hospital. He literally jumped off of the stairs and if it wasn't for his wife Koo Ryeon couldn't save him. So I can understand your point, but I can't agree people need to get at their lowest to get better, if that was the case then psychologists would be really mean I guess lol
Now let's be fair, Koo Ryeon is terrible at this job 💀 almost everyone she tries to save with her words end up getting their ratings higher than before and the other characters need to step out to save them like... Girl? I get it, you suffered a lot, but maybe this one's not for you....
I'm already at ep 7 and I can't see Gaettong with anyone but the king. Their love is so pure and gone through poverty and so many hard stuff just to end up like that? I can't accept it 🥀
Would not be possible for it to have multiple events happening if she was
Yeah ik but her powers made everything "too convenient", such a lazy writing. Even if she was a demon or sth I'd like to see her revenge without any powers just smart psycho brain yk
I don't speak korean so I don't know if the Netflix subtitles are kinda odd or the original dialogues that are weird, but certainly there's a lot of times I get confused with the conversations
Totally overrated, it deserves at most 8 and would still be higher for it. Oh, and cha young is one of the worst characters of all, really hate her grimaces and body language, it's just too much and I wanted to punch her sometimes
