I wasn't even going to watch it. Then, I had a series of bad days, so to take my mind off of things, I watched…
IKR?! I liked KHY too but not enough prior to Lovely Runner. Extraordinary You has been on my To Watch List for so long, but I am yet to get around to it. The reason why I liked her is because of all the drama snippets of Extraordinary You that I had stumbled upon which had made me realise the extent of her acting prowess. Most of her following dramas were not exactly my cup of tea. Also, my free time is extremely limited. So, I usually don't watch a lot.
On a side note, LR is so reminiscent of SOOD in terms of tone, the latter being one of the best dramas that I have ever watched. LR is what the KDrama adaptation of SOOD ought to have aspired to be. LR has the same tone of urgency, longing and separation as SOOD that comes across as achingly sincere. The stakes feel very real. SOOD made me feel nostalgic, even though I have nothing to do with South East Asia in any shape or form. Maybe, my affection for SOOD also stems from the fact that the body language and manner of speech of the Taiwanese is quite close to how my own countrymen carry themselves. In my opinion, SOOD is way better than LR, even though the latter is simply fabulous. Also, due to SOOD, I also developed a special fondness for Taiwanese Mandarin. Now, I love the sound of the Taiwanese dialect a lot more than some other languages that I am familiar with. (No offence. I like the sound of some languages better than others.) It somehow sounds very relaxed and almost musical.
I'm not ready. I'M NOT READY! IM NOT READY FOR IT TO BE OVER! I'm going to miss uri SolJae so much 😭😭I'm…
I wasn't even going to watch it. Then, I had a series of bad days, so to take my mind off of things, I watched the first episode the very day it aired. I thought I would drop it. However, when the first few minutes were reflective of a deeper story, I continued watching it. I am not into K-Pop at all. Hence, I don't identify much with people supporting idols. But, her room full of merchandise reminded me of how I wanted to fill up my entire room with HP memorabilia and how HP comforted me during the years. I lowkey still want to splurge on HP stuff, LOL. Fortunately, better sense prevails most of the time. When Lovely Runner was first written about on MDL, I admit I had rolled my eyes to high heaven. Even though, I like travel through time, my main reason to scoff at the plot was that I have rarely liked dramas set primarily in high school. There have been very few ones that have been done well. I was prepared for however annoying it might turn out to be. Till date, very few dramas have proved my instincts wrong (including the factor whether I would like them) . I can proudly say this is one of them.

I totally understand that it is difficult to be fluent, especially, if you're multilingual. It's just that I try to be a bit of a purist when it comes to languages. It's alright if people aren't fluent. It drives me crazy when people inspite of being fairly fluent choose to drop words, use bad grammar, or shorten words to unintelligible contractions. Also, I feel if one is adding lyrics of any foreign language to a song, then, the lyrics ought to be proofread. Here in my country, they sometimes add lyrics of foreign origin to the local songs, and then I get to know that those lyrics have dodgy grammar and syntax. 😅

I do ship fictional characters to an unnecessary degree. It's just that, in my opinion, shipping real people seems to take away their agency. However, I get what you are saying. It's fun to buy into the idea that the romance also continues off-screen. I am very much a HEA person, and for actual people to get together whose fictional characters I have shipped together does seem like a win. 😍 Especially, given how droll and unhappy real life can get.

I absolutely dislike shipping actual people to be very honest. However, I have found myself wavering in some rare instances. ☺ As far as Tao is concerned, her pregnancy and marriage was an unexpected but good surprise. I never shipped her with anyone of them. I became a fan of Kento after watching him for the first time in Todome no Kiss, before watching any of his Shoujo stuff. Before that I avoided watching his stuff because I wrongly assumed that his works are not my cup of tea. I still want him to collaborate with his co-star in TNK, Kadowaki, again.

Dang. That's a bummer. Bad syntax and grammar drives me up the wall. So, I guess it's MTL. On a side note, languages are hardly respected enough anymore to be spoken and written properly. Even though, I really like the song, Spring Snow by 10 cm, but its incorrect syntax of the English lyrics prevents me from completely enjoying it. I don't claim to have absolute prowess over languages but if I am vaguely aware that something is incorrect, it diminishes my enjoyment. 😐
noticed in episode 14 that when she told him she never wants to see him again, he seems to notice her body language…
He did look hurt and confused. It seemed like he could tell that she was lying through her teeth and there was a much deeper reason for her saying no to him. And her rejection hurt not because he couldn't do what he wanted but because it was coming from her.

Thank you for your detailed reply. I totally get your love for the show, some of my own comfort watches are quite flawed but I love them to bits. I always read the worst reviews. If they are ranting about the things I absolutely abhor, I pass on those dramas. That's my trick to filter out the ones I wouldn't like. But, I too have loved dramas that the rest hated. Hence, I understand where you are coming from. Also, I have no problem with the adopted siblings trope too. Heck, I watch JDramas. 😅 The reviewers said the FL was weak-willed which is why I didn't check it out. I like my FLs to have personality even if they are Mary Sues. It has a few of the actors l like as supporting cast. I guess I will check it out. You convinced me. 🥰

The reviews on MDL were not exactly encouraging me to watch it, even though, I loved his performance in Flourish in Time which became one of my most favourite high school dramas.
Yes Lovely Runner is his first ML role in Full-length drama.Besides this he is also ML in 20th century girl movie,…
Wow. Kudos to him. Never once did I feel him struggling, especially, given the fact he is starring opposite to KHY. Heck, some of his acting was actually some of the best I have ever seen in KDramas. A good director can only do so much. An actor must do the rest. I realised I have seen him in 20th Century Girl and Waikiki before. However, he must not have stood out. Love that he has worked hard to improve with each opportunity he got. Now, he gives the vibe of a seasoned actor. *touchwood*
