Hmm, I say it'd be a better episode because it wouldn't dilly-dally around points already made in the first episode, and introduce new/different things instead, or even different perspectives, rather than replaying same clips from the previous episode. Because, like I said, there was no substantial new development in the plot in the second episode, rather than it being a filler placeholder with additional father-daughter arc to carry it.

And, that's okay if you have many episodes planned further, but this show has only ten episodes, so why waste two like this.

The source material isn't limited to a restricted amount of episodes like this. Wouldn't be able to make any more statements on that since I haven't read it yet.

Of course, you can have a different opinion to mine and we can agree to disagree.

I'm not sure if you read through the replies I wrote later but I did mention that instead of extending to two episodes with repetitive scenes in the second, her arc could have been combined with his in the first episode itself with interchanging POVs. We didn't need to see the same stories again because they didn't add anything extra to the story. Her dad's relationship with her could have been included in the first episode itself. With some skillful editing, you'd have a better and crisp episode line up, and a more satisfied audience—that's primarily why people are complaining, the pacing is bad.

Its actually a woman who is the screenwriter. You do have a point though but it has nothing to do with genders…
Hmm you could be right, but the screenwriter can only change so many things, you know what I mean?

With Kang Full though, he's also written some very good female characters with gumption, Mihyun, Huisoo and Jihee in Moving are some that come to my mind, the female characters in Timing (Webtoon) as well.

But even so, I feel like this character didn't have to be written in such a helpless way, and some of it might be how men usually want to see women, as people who they can help, and while Kang Full could very well be an exception, he still could be like men in general, you never know!

how does mijeong’s pov gets covered by dongjin’s? then you wouldn’t have any idea of how she feels? how…
Yeah, that's what I meant, instead of dragging it to two episodes about their time in school, it could've been one crisp epsiode.

Also, I agree with your subjective opinion as well! That's why I mentioned her curse being portrayed as a curse, because honestly if I were writing this story, I would atleast have her try to interpret this "curse" another way which allows her more control over what's happening in her life.

Right now it's a very damsel in distress sort of a situation, gave me an ick each time the men lept falling at her feet trying to help her, even ML for that matter, but alas that's the story

you're entitled to your opinion, but imo there episode runtime used a lot of clips from the previous episode which could effectively have been cut short.

If you're asking about the technicality of how we would have an idea of her depression, I actually don't feel like the additonal bits of her childhood added something substantial to the plot when we already knew that this sort of thing followed her around since quite some time. The scene with the Hankuk university sunbae, is already covered in a conversation among the students, did it really need to be shown again on screen?

And I don't mean discard the second episode entirely, I feel like some clips are important like her relationship with her dad for example, but doing an interchanging pov in the first episode which included both the characters' memories would have solved the problem and people wouldn't complain about pacing so much.

The reason why I'm saying this is also because Kang Full's other works have never fallen short in the scriptwriting front. Both Moving and Light Shop had scenes that were actually important and weren't just there for runtime. For it to turn out like this in his third show makes me curious about what went wrong, he should be improving with this project but doesn't seem like the case

You know this character is written by a man because if a woman wrote her, she'd actively look for terrible men to kill 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

Given that we only have ten episodes, I feel like the first two episodes could have been just the one episode because Mijeong's pov gets pretty much covered in Dongjin's pov, so what was really the point of the second episode really

With all due respect this is my review on the show and my opinion on the show. Just because you like the drama…
sure! but i definitely can disagree with you. especially when you've claimed to have watched all 16 episodes when only 8 of them are out right now. and i can put forth my own rebuttals for your review because i wouldn't want anyone coming in here reading your review and take a warped idea of what the drama actually is. that's also why the site allows comments on reviews.

maybe it's not your cup of tea, but it's very much enjoyable for those who don't need unnecessary comedy or villainous plotlines for a story to be relatable. sometimes stories don't need stakes. sometimes they can be about lives of people teaching in a hagwon, and that's okay. the drama brings to the table a calm, soothing narrative with its very well fleshed out characters. this niche isn't yours, so kindly watch the bajillions of kdramas that fulfil your criteria of villains and the like. thankyou
