It's difficult not to compare Hello Stranger with Gameboys because there were just too many similarities between…
I can't say more. You said it very well. Ultimately, this is just the first episode so I hope they have a lot of things up their sleeves. I really like the last part of the episode though - Mico on his bed with his plushie (so cote and pure), accidentally liking Xav's IG photo (captioned Are you thinking of me?) then accidentally liking his message too. I think it saved the whole episode. Let's support both!
Fun Fact: The IdeaFirst (Gameboy's company) and Black Sheep (Hello Stranger's) made a movie (or other projects too?) together, Panti Sisters. So I think they should support each other.
In a recent interview with Gameboys and its director and writer by Central BL, Gameboys will have 8 episodes (originally it was 4, but yeah because of the unprecedented support). S2 is all being considered.
I know that probably a lot of people are weirded out with Pearl's constant support with the two and that it might…
Amen to that! This is what I've been saying. In the recent episode, Pearl inviting Cai is like inviting him to her life and friendship with Gav. Mamshie relationship, hahaha, I learned it from Revil. ;)
Hey guys. Black Sheep's "Hello Stranger" has just dropped their trailer on YouTube today. They'll premiere on YT and FB on June 24, just few days later. Check it out. ;)
The protagonist are GOURGEOUS, but I wish this was a regular series than another made on screen series. We already…
they just dropped the trailer. and yes the concept is also virtual. but i think it's understandable due to these trying times. companies have their own discretion whether or not they ask the actors to come for a shoot. but yeah let's support Ph BL.. it's from a mainstream company, so who knows we'll be having BLs on national TV too.
I imagine I will be the only commenter who isn't bonkers for Pearl. It seems to me her constant presence is preventing…
Well, I imagine I will be the only commenter who'd like to defend Pearl's character. Not sure where you guys from, but typically in the Phils (not all the time though) best friends especially girl best friends meddle in a lot. I'm not sure how to put this but somehow they want to get involved to show support or tell off their best friends. Pearl, calling Cai in the 3rd ep, felt like she was somehow bonded with guilt so at least she wanted to do something for both of them (feeling close to someone you don't know much is somehow an extrovert trait). Also, Pearl said she hasn't anyone to talk to except for Gav. She can't just exclude Cai since she knows Cai now is a part of Gav's life. She seems to be somehow a catalytic character for Gav and Cairo. See her constant involvement, Cairo seemed to be soften, and her, telling off Gav that's he's gross or cheesy may have Gav toned it down a bit. Just imagine, if Pearl wasn't there, we'd just have an annoying fckboi and a grumpy tsundere like ep 1 with very slow character progression. Well, at least, she wasn't the typical b*ch in many BL series who ruins relationships. Anyhow, we may have different tastes (or it's a cultural thingy) and I respect that. I also really want more scenes for just Gav and Cairo. But I just really enjoy Pearl being around. Gameboys won't be a game with just 2 players. And now, we get to have another player you can complain about. ;)
I don't like Pearl's presence and involvement with Cai and Gav's moments. I still love this show but I didn't…
I supposed not to comment on this but this has brought up few times by other people. Any bets on the role of the as-yet unseen character 'London'? Will he also refer to Gav as 'Babe' and insist they're…
Yeah London is Cairo's older brother and clearly so far they didn't have any good relationship (fun fact they're really brothers in real life). I don't if Cai's family know already know about Cai's sexual preference that might have explained why he hasn't hanged out with his fam, but I doubt London and Gav could have known each other.
PS: The guy in the last part is not London. He's Terrence. Gav's ex.
This year is a good start for Filipino BL world domination! hahaha Gameboys, My Day, then this! Unexpectedly, this is to release earlier than My Day! ;) I'm just afraid this would have a similar concept to Gameboys based on the posters.
i was thinking the same. gameboys still has 7 more eps. so a third ep mee-up is too early. haha cai said he was…
whaaaat really? So MyDramalist put 10 episodes in the description isn't true? ohmygoodness. that's sad. so possibly they originally planned for a 10-minute episode instead of 20. tsk
Yes, please explain also about 'Harana'. I've read somewhere in the comment section that what Gavreel did in Ep…
No worries, you explained it well. In addition, in our country, a guitar was somehow a must have in anyone's family (nowadays we're losing that idea since everyone is working and literally spending little time at home especially in the cities). Probably, a karaoke player/machine has replaced that. Somehow, music plays a large role in our culture so does in courtship. The "harana" tradition is still alive in some countryside areas though. However, in the city, especially in schools, when a guy brings a guitar, sings with friends, and especially to the girl he likes - the tradition lives somehow. They say, if a guy holds a guitar or sings well, they become 10x hotter.
Honestly, I've seen a lot of Filipino lgbtq+ themed shorts and films, Gameboys is far from those others in terms of production quality and story-telling . So, if you'd like this light, giddy, Thai-ish BL with good quality... Gameboys is, unfortunately, the only one so far. But I hope yeah, this will set the bar high in Philippine upcoming BLs. For now, please follow Oxin Films on YT, they're making a BL series, I think this a Gameboys-level of a series, it's called "My Day". You can check it out. ;)
