I've been trying to pinpoint why I'm not liking Passionate Love as much as I did similar Republican dramas like Circle of Love and Maid's Revenge.  I think a big reason is that the ML in this drama is miscast.  The chemistry between the leads and the direction of certain scenes are also off.  By comparison, both Circle of Love and Maid's Revenge had scenes where the ML was aggressive with the FL, but the MLs in those dramas were far more charismatic and sexy, and the chemistry between the leads was sizzling.  Whereas with Passionate Love, the ML just comes across as an angry teenage boy, and his more aggressive scenes with the FL is offputting at times, not enticing.  Maybe the chemistry will improve in later episodes...

Agreed! I was so sick of the miserable look on the FL's face every time she was around the ML. Thankfully, they're now a couple as of episode 20, and she's finally able to smile in the ML's presence.

I'm not comparing the two actresses. I understand that My Boss and Our Interpreter are telling two different love stories with different couples. I just have a personal preference for the FL's character in Our Interpreter more, at least how she's written. She's more mature but still has her flaws and room for growth, whereas the FL in My Boss acts a little too childish at times for my liking (more childish than an average novice would). Again, that's a result of the writing/direction. However, I'm enjoying both dramas in their own right and happy to have two modern dramas with CXX airing at the same time.

Same! I'm typically not interested in second chance romance dramas. However, this one is done well. I just finished the first 5 episodes, and I'm invested in the love story. The leads have great chemistry. Give it a shot!

Just finished the first 5 episodes, and I'm liking it so far. I expect the story will drag a bit since the drama is 36 episodes and it's already feeling a little slow. But, I'm very invested in this love story. I like the FL in this drama better than the more childish FL in CXX's other modern drama My Boss.

I did like CXX in the republican drama Fall in Love, but I agree with you. I'm loving his look in both this and his other modern drama My Boss. He knows how to rock an all black suit!

This drama has the hottest kissing scenes I've ever seen in a Cdrama, and there were so many of them!!! I hope this is the trend moving forward for other romance dramas.

The chemistry between the FL and ML was sizzling! This is the first lakorn I've seen with Mario, and I can't wait to see more of him ❤️. His revenge era look was fire. I hope his other lakorns are just as good as this one.

I agree that the FL acts like a teenager, not like someone who has graduated from law school. It's a little annoying, but I'm still sticking with this drama for now since I like the overall premise, and I love the ML. It's great to see him in a modern drama.
