POV: you're doing everything in the group project
We can all say thank you to Woo Dohwan for saving this drama, he simply stole the show. The beginning was ok. The plot was promising but badly executed to the point that the last quarter of the serie was a torture to watch. It was so boring, I watch it until the end just for WDH.
Moreover I don't think the 2 leads had any chemistry, I was unphased watching them. And it's strange coming from me because I usually have low standards regarding romance dramas I almost like everything 😭
It's not the worst drama ever but still don't recommend it.

If Emmanuel Macron was a kdrama
I'm just mad I wasted 8 hours of my life on this. There is nothing good about it except de trailer and the editing 😭 Surprinsingly I actually watched it until the end because I didn't want to believe the story could go toward what I was thinking and that the main character could be as stupid as I thought. But yes at the end it was what I thought lol.
This drama is like Macron, he makes you think he is gonna do good things but is just useless af. You feel he is trying to make you mad just by watching him existing, and he makes you mad for senseless decisions.
worst kdrama I've ever seen, it was even worse that the dramas I dropped (~40).

POV: The demon to my sleep paralysis
You don't like this drama? You actually do 😐🔪.Twinkling Watermelon is like the demon to my sleep paralysis. You think it's done with you just because it didn't showed up for months? You think you can keep it away from you by having a regular sleep schedule? You think you can feint it by faking falling asleep? No it will always find its way toward you 😈
On a more serious note someone help me, this is my favorite tv show ever, I've watched it countless time during the last 3 years and still can not get sick of it.
There is the perfect balance between serious and light moments, a lot of characters are well developped and will move you (not only the main 4). It simply healed the teenager inside me and will remain as the most comforting show ever.

?? aged badly but at the same time no???
I understand why Full house is considered as the blueprint of rom-com. This show was hilarious even though the plot was nothing crazy. And it is a lot from me because I usually don't like comedy that much, for example dramas such as Business proposal, Mr queen, or Vincenzo which were sold to me as being some of the funniest dramas, couldn't steal me a smile.
Now before watching you have to take in consideration that it's a very old show so it's borderline misogynistic. For me the good side takes over it but for some people it can be a pass.
And also the show as a whole is totally unrealistic, you must go into it knowing it's just silly.
Last thing I want to say is that it was the first time I fully enjoyed Song Hyekyo acting game. I usually like her kdramas because she chooses good plots, but her cating in itself is often not giving for me. But this time she was great and made he show was it was.

The drama that made me lock in kdrama world
It may be biased because it was one of my first kdramas in 2018 but this show is so good, I have feelings for it at this point. It has been in my top 5 for years and the "I wanna reset" still pops up in my head randomly sometimes 💀.Plot: I liked the way school life was depicted even though it may seem dramatic I think it represents a lot of people's life. I rember the revenge being so satisfying, the way eun byeol backed up her sister. Even though it's a school drama, it will provides you with an epic feeling.
Characters: I like the way side characters had very interesting and relevant stories. I also liked how it adressed the "being a bystander" or "being a passive bully" issue with Eun Byeol's bffs story line.
Production: I also remeber thinking the rythm was weird at first, but it was maybe because I was not used to kdramas.
Anyway perfect drama for begginers!

POV: I'm in this show and I like it
I just want to say thank you Summer strike for depicting the most wholesome introvert romance.I can't belive how engaging the story was even if objectively, not a lot happened. I was smiling the whole time and I felt so represented as an introvert.
I didn't put a perfect score because the whole "thriller/mystery" part of the plot wasn't giving anything, like idk they could have done something better, I didn't care at all about it, all I wanted was to come back to the romance part and the enjoying the dolce vita part which were perfectly executed.
Now I will say this drama is not for you if you need action, it has a very slow rythm.

Me ???? Slowburns
I live for romance like this.It was a slow comforting show even if it depicts serious disturbing problems.
The main couple was great even if in the past Sang Yan gave a bit stalker vibes when he went to her city.
The side couple was cute too and didn't outshine the main.
I love how when Sang Yan started his sentence by " Wen Shuangjiang" you knew he was about to spit the facts to reassure her or support her.
There is just one thing that I could not comprehend: the part where Wen Yifan is gone during 6 months to HongKong and then just changes her mine when Sang Yan pop up? like, what was the use for this? idk unless I missed something...

POV: your sleep paralysis demon comes back into your life
I have terrible mixed feelings about this drama but probably not for what you think. In short:
- traumatic on a personnal level
- annoying choices from the scriptors
- Woo Dohwan being his majestic self as usual (in french we say " the bread of the bakery")
Now for the full review:
The first time I watched it, I really wanted to like it but I just couldn't.
First of all I started to watch it because of Woo Dowhan which is simply my favorite actor all times. But this time his incredible acting ability may have been what made me feel uneasy. The toxicness of his character was too much to handle for me at the point that it was hard to watch without wanting to cry.
Maybe the show hurted me personnally because of a past experience but still I think WDH's performance was what made it so hurtfull (so this is not a diss toward him but the opposite). I felt like I was watching a depiction of my own life at some point, and it's probably why this show is so popular, a lot of the viewers could relate to the female lead since we almost all have experienced disppointing/traumatic relationships and felt like someone was playing with us.
Regarding the plot there were a few things that didn't felt right with me.
First of all the fact that Hae Jo was selfish enough to make a comeback into Jae Mi's life, knowing that he was dying and that he didn't deserve her after he destroyed her in the past.
But most importantly I could not stand how Eo Heung was treated by the show. I get the fact that sometimes you are not the right person for the person you want, and I'm not saying that Jae Mi should have forced herself to stay with Eo Heung, but she could have handled the situation better. She clearly knew the extent of her romantic feelings for him (which is to say 0%, I don't care that she had "affection" for him) from the begining AND she knew the moment Hae Jo popped back into her life like a sleep paralysis demon, that she would follow him to the end of the planet. But she still made Eo heung suffer because she could not make her decision.
BUT the worse in all of this, is how the scriptors of the show settled the situation. Why did they make Eo heung accept the situation by staying on good terms with the couple, when he clearly should have protected himself toward such disrespect he suffered. It made him pass for a stupid character who could not stand for himself (and the little time he spent in his room angry toward her doesn't make up for it). In my opinion he should have hold more grudges. Nobody is that nice in real life, his character was not credible at all in my opinion.
Anyway, to conclude it was very hard to watch the first time and after I finished I was so frustrated and confused because it made me pity myself
BUT
seeing how the show gained popularity and how people didn't seem to mind that Hae Jo was a complete *******, I decided to rewatch it but this time being aware of the toxicity of this drama. And this time I could fully enjoy the romance without wanting to k my self lol.
So yes this show is great, with great actors, great cinematography, and yes despite everything I still think they are endgame like all of you (but still the most toxic couple ever u_u).

And this how Seo Inguk entered my top 5
Plot? peakEyes acting? peak
Actors chemistry? peak
Emotional distress after finishing it? peak
I had no expectations at first, not being familiar with the actors and not being hyped by the plot. Well it was one of these dramas that let you wondering how are you gonna find such a gem after it.
Honestly I watched it long ago so my review can't do it justice, but years later it remains as one of the most impactfull drama for me and one of the few that made me cry alongside Move to heaven, Moon lovers, My Dearest, 2521, My country and When life gives you tangerines!

A perfect slow comforting show ... that will not convince everyone
I feel like I need to come to the rescue of this drama, I remember being totally absorbed by this romance that it was actually a torture to wait each week for the release of the episodes. That said, this drama is obviously not for everyone.
First of all it's set in a professional environnement which can already sound uninteresting to some people.
It's a very (very) slow burn, it's like if you are dropped in the middle of the character's life (who happen to have a very normal life with normal job) so nothing is made to make this show dramatic or theatrical. There is a lot of long sequences where you watch the characters doing their everyday business in silence. Everything is about feeling and absorbing the character's emotions wether they feel joy, hesitation, success...
Personally it's right my alley, some people will find it boring but for me it was a very comforting show so I encourage you to give it a chance. Except if you know it's not your type, then don't even try to get into it, you will get bored.
For exemple if you enjoyed dramas such as Summer strike, Neverthless, Doona, or The smile has left your eyes, Something in the rain... there is a good chance you will like it.

POV: you can sit at Moon lovers table
Yes this drama can sit among the legends such as Moon lovers, My dearest and Empress Ki.I have only rated 7 dramas as 10/10 and it is one of them. After having watched hundreds of kdramas, this one remains in my top 5 and as the most underrated drama in my opinion. The spectacle of emotions offered in front of us can not be described.
First of all, I don't even think I need to talk about Woo Dohwan. I knew before starting that he would not disappoint me. He simply is the best actor out there.
I could say he carried the whole show but everything was perfect, from the rest of the cast, to the plot, the music, the cinematography... Yang Sejong was a discovery for me, he also did a great job at portraying emotions. Jang Hyuck was even more impressive, and SeolHyun was great too despite her character lacking something.
For the rest, I simply want to say that I feel bad for people who refuse to watch saggeuk because they are missing on the most emotionally gripping and epic stories. If you are hesitating, go for it and be prepared to shed tears.
