he was threatened that his beloved will be poisoned to death if he chose her as main and only wife, he wants her…
In absolutely no palace drama is an emperor less powerful than an empress mother. The drama has confirmed several times that she cannot do whatever she wants openly and always behind the scenes, you are just like the lord who believed in an empty threat. My problem is not her threat but the lord's lack of shame in taking her as a concubine, at least he would give her the honor of never marrying a coward.
There's a certain theory popular in sci-fi time travel stories (yes, this is a rewrite/rebirth/reincarnation -…
It's not really time travel, since it's an alternative version of the novel by the author of the first episode, I think some characters have inevitable destinies because that's their role in the story.
he was threatened that his beloved will be poisoned to death if he chose her as main and only wife, he wants her…
Firstly, the threat doesn't even make sense, if he's not going to be emperor, they're both going to leave the court and live a life of peace, why would the empress mother kill her? If he becomes emperor, will the empress mother really want to kill the love of his life? she would be creating an enemy more powerful than herself. It is very clear that it was an empty threat with the sole intention of humiliating his wife. For me, this is more of a plot hole, the emperor and the empress mother should not agree at this point in the story. And even simpler, it is enough for her to never drink wine if he is afraid that the wine is poisoned, or that he tastes everything for her.
he was threatened that his beloved will be poisoned to death if he chose her as main and only wife, he wants her…
It wasn't a real threat, and even if it was he would have been able to protect her, the empress was just being spoiled because she decided he would choose any other random woman as his wife. She made the demand simply to humiliate her. He promised he would marry her, if he couldn't keep his promise he shouldn't have given her any roses. But he preferred to humiliate her just because he feels entitled to be the prince and have whoever he wants. If she had known she would be a concubine she would never have participated.
Lord Lin Zi really disappointed me, I never imagined he would be so cowardly, all it took was an empty threat for him to humiliate her by making her a concubine, what a shame this marriage is. He either fulfilled the promise he made to her or refused to marry, choosing a cowardly and humiliating middle ground.
What did the king gain from Xue Shu being a concubine? Doesn't that make sense, just because she's from the Xue family would she be of any use? She doesn't know anything about the family's plans
This arc of her love for ZZ finally ended, what an unbearable love, "he's so good", he only had the pretension of being good, he couldn't even achieve that. He couldn't even do his own job properly, he just said what he wanted and thought that was the proper policy.
Very true. And people seem to forget that this is XN story, her rebirth, her attempt at making the best of her…
I have no way of knowing if I like a drama without watching it, by basic logic I can only make a judgment after having analyzed it. Just because it’s her story doesn’t mean she’s the best character. She's interesting anyway, but you guys not allowing people to criticize her is meaningless. Nothing justifies her mistake of almost blowing up the Yan army.
How could he? When was he supposed to explain everything to her? She has been too busy getting the Yans thrown…
Her talking to the Yan army was the biggest and unforgivable mistake, she almost ruined everything. The most unbelievable thing is that the army actually listened to her.
ZZ is way too honest and goody goody to survive the cut and thrust of court politics.......... quick thinking…
Good is not the right word, he is moralistic, he defends morals and that's all. And even in this he is flawed, after all he broke his morals to help the empress in his past life.

The simple fact that the characters are male makes you hate them.
