All the good magic suddenly becomes weak for convenience, all the magical items stop working, but everything works perfectly for the villains at just the right time. They're inexplicably powerful, and no one ever sees them doing anything evil. It's like the writer thinks the audience is stupid.

Why do the souls of the good die forever, while the villains just end up in a prison they might escape from? This story makes no sense.
