It made me happy reading your review after seeing almost everyone critisize it for being slow paced. Which is, as you say, a preference, not a flaw. I hope people will still watch it, especially if they read your review! Now I even feel like rewatching it haha
I saw someone on twitter pointing out that the person falling down the stairs doesnt have anything in her head,…
Ikr i didnt realise at all in the first place either, i was all like 'omfg here we go again another person dying', i think the two people are rona and eunbyeol cause it would also make sense since everything is basically because their moms hate each other u know, im really intrigued to see how they play it out!!
There are two possibilities:- Either it's Ro Na who was stabbed in the head with the wing of the trophy and pushed…
I saw someone on twitter pointing out that the person falling down the stairs doesnt have anything in her head, and when the camera shows the head that was stabbed, the background doesnt match with the stairs. Hence people believe it's two people we're seeing! It's believed it's Rona who falls down the stairs (and doesnt necesarily die) and then possibly Eunbyeol who has been stabbed in the head. We'll see what happens, it's crazy :OO
I am 100% the same with my first J-movie/J-horror. As Iām older now I see how cringy and out of it mine was…
I actually got the novel in my local manga store! They had it and i was like 'i need to buy this' so i bought it and read it! I really recommend it. Of course is has some differences from the film, but i didn't think too much about it! And yes it was pretty thought-provoking, cause i kept imagining it being my own class in that situation, so yeah, a little scary! And now i want to both rewatch the movie and re-read the book hahaha
I don't remember when I watched Battle Royale for the first time, but probably around 8 years ago I believe (I was around 13 or 14 i think), and to this day it is still one of my favorite movies, if not my no 1. It has been a while since I watched it, but I have watched it around 5 times (which is a lot for me, since i rarely rewatch movies out of own choice), and I have also read the original novel, which I also really liked, and I want to re-read it sometime!
I have also watched Requiem, but only once, and that has also been around 8 years ago, so I don't remember much of what I thought of it sadly, but it obviously didn't have as much of an effect on me as the first movie haha.
Whenever people ask me for movie recommendations, I always recommend Battle Royale, because it had a big impact on me. As you also wrote, all the different reactions they have on how to get out of there, to kill or not to kill, it really made me think. So Battle Royale definitely is a huge hit for me!! Also since I was close to the age of the characters it all felt more real to me, so yeah, it really impacted me.
The more I think about the movie the better it gets honestly, I really have to rewatch it soon!
