Iāve seen a few comments dragging Ding Yuxiās looks and posture in Road to Splendor, and honestly, it feels unnecessary. And the netizens are calling him "ugly" . šYou can dislike a character or a storyline, but reducing an actorās work to shallow insults doesnāt add anything meaningful. Heās putting genuine effort into this role, and the drama has a lot of heart. Everyone has their preferences, but personal attacks donāt really help anyone. If you enjoy the drama or his performance, a bit of support goes a long way. Itās nice when the conversation around a show stays respectful and focused on the actual story.
Itās actually so good, a commoner and a fallen noble young lady, OMG. The drama has been great so far, and I really hope they keep it going all the way through. Not going to lie, I started watching only because of Ding Yuxi, but the story is honestly not bad at all, and Deng Enxi looks amazing too. The couple works, the chemistry is strong, and Iām really enjoying it. Honestly, waiting two years for this drama was totally worth it. Highly recommend it

Maybe there is, because I saw on a social media platform that someone saying that the original version and the published version are actually a bit different. So that might be why.

I only found the Chinese version at first, so I had to translate it into English just to understand anything, and honestly, I didnāt get half of it. Iām going to read an official version now. Iām really sorry if I confused you. But thank you for the explanation though
As far as Iāve read and understood, He Pan is meant to be the Sea Emperor/Empress, while Rong Chen Zi is a master of the Qingxu Temple. Rong Chen Zi finds her injured, takes her in, and cares for her, meanwhile, she had planned everything from the start to obtain the single bowl of heartās blood from him. She tries to seduce Rong Chen Zi; at first, the gentle, cold master wants nothing to do with it, but eventually he softens toward her. Just when their connection starts to grow, He Pan uses herself as bait, luring Rong Chen Zi into the sea and taking the heartās blood she needs. In the Sea Emperorās Palace, everything between them collapses, one bowl of heartās blood becomes the price for all his sincerity. The love that once warmed them turns into something sharp enough to cut. So this has kind of a lovers to enemies plot
Unfortunately, as far as I have read in the novel, it is good. But it's giving me a hard time to finish it. Though…
I agree, the pacing is way too draggy. I only got through about a quarter of the 309 chapters before giving up. Most of it is just the journey, and almost everything is told from the FLās POV, so it gets repetitive fast, but the annoying part is that the FL and ML are actually great. Theyāre both smart, observant, and not the type to make dumb decisions just to create drama. Their chemistry is subtle but solid, and when the story focuses on them, itās genuinely engaging.
