That's how you deliver a cliffhanger. Drop mic!
Wow, this episode was pretty potent stuff. While it bothered me before about some of the magic rules changing, I think Mirror of the Witch has it's footing. It knows what it's doing, so viewers can sit back and relax and watch the characters figure it out.
To be honest I am disappointed in Poong Yeon, but his current feelings are to be expected. It felt like he created this idea about Seo Ri. He didn't really know her, after all she was trapped up alone in the Black Forest most of the time. So it's undeniable that his love would turn out this way. Trying to obtain an ideal, not accepting the person.
So what makes true love? I enjoy the idea that Mirror of the Witch is taking on True Love. (Queue marbles.)
Sol Gae's role in things is driving me crazy as she's one of the characters that we know little of, and with only 5 more episodes to go it may stay that way. (***Edit: Kachiiing brought it to my attention that the show has been extended to 20 episodes. I refrain from passing judgement at this point.****) Sol Gae and Poong Yeon can save each other! That's all I'm asking out of that plot line. Not to mention that I do have a few other plot holes that are starting to irritate. Such as Hoe Ok's father.
Overall though I love the players setting up! The Queen and King are now becoming willful players, and I think they're both trying to no longer be pawns. This epsidoe does well to flesh out spotlight characters and some minor players a bit. Not to mention that there's a question of Seo Ri's twin not wanting to kill her. The twists that this episode created are just too good.

Beautiful Gong Shim Episode 12

Well, bravo Gong Shim. Bravo. In more ways then one she took the power tools in her hand and showed him how to make a bed. If Dan Tae can't handle it, she will. Well done girl.
This episode, despite how totally awesome Gong Shim is, isn't about her and Dan Tae. Gong Shim makes her stand, but this is an episode about Dan Tae and Joon Soo. It addresses the tension between the two. Joon Soo unaware of the bigger plot, and Dan Tae already condemning him.
There's a crossroads here before Joon Soo. Up to this point he's been an amazing guy, and honestly I would have said until this episode that he would do the right thing. But he is an amazing guy. What wouldn't he do for the love of his mother? The final scenes of this episode where so intense.
I'll admit I miss the magicalness of the first 10 episodes. The humor and joy. This episode was intense and the final scenes had my heart in my mouth as I practically had a mini stroke when I realized that THAT was the cliffhanger. Dang you! The terror that Joon Soo may go down the wrong path is so scary. Especially since I love him! I love Joon Soo and Dan Tae's bromance.

Lucky Romance Episode 8

I love that both the leads did not insta-love each other. Su Ho's kindness has been what kept him coming back to Bo Nui to protect her. Now the one sided crush is born! It's kind of a relief that it's Su Ho who is falling in love. Oh, I can see Bo Nui lurking behind the computer listening to Su Ho and his first love! BUT at this point Su Ho is the first one to fully get the feels and to realize what is happening to him.
I am so happy that Su Ho has developed into such an amazing character. Every time he smiled in this episode my heart was happy. I love that the story and acting can convey that type of emotion. I will definitely be paying attention to more dramas with Ryu Joon Yeol.
I suppose it's time I mention Su Ho's mom's storyline. I'm wondering if that's Gary's dad? Also, I'm very curious where they're going to take it. Because it seems like his mom is in crush with the chicken man.

Love Me If You Dare Episode 1

To be honest the opening song and credits made me think this was a copy cat of the many murder mystery shows out there. Then it started up with this crazy sequence of scenes that didn't seem to fit. I had the urge to just quit! But that's not how you try out a drama.
Soon the show evened out and things began to fall into place about the beginning sequences. You get the idea, but there's still PLENTY of mystery.
By the 22 min mark I was hooked. The actors are very compelling. There's something about Ma Sandra that just captivates me as I watch her.
I enjoy this setup of Bo being this mysterious (and extremely good looking) man living in a villa. There's something in his locked room! All kinds of mysteries and the sweet Jian Yao who needs to solve it.
It's kind of like a rough Beauty and the Beast setup. Don't go into the west wing. Can you love this monster of a man. So, yeah I'm in for trying this.
There's plenty of side story going on as Jian Yao's brother (but I'm thinking would be boyfriend? it was very unclear to me) is a detective trying to solve these missing person cases. Clearly Bo has something to do with crime solving.

Beautiful Gong Shim Episode 1

This is a promising start! It's very straight forward. No flashbacks. AND we get a feel for all the characters so far. Bravo!
Part of me was really hoping that sisters, Gong Shim and Gong Mi, would be friends. I really want a drama where sisters, or the women, would have some kind of loving and close relationship. It can get tiring always have the leading ladies "cat fight" it out.
Gong Shim is awesome! I adore her. The fact that she stood up for herself to her family was moving. Just as it was heartbreaking to see how they've treated her and keep on treating her. Self worth can be hindered by those you love most, or are supposed to love you most. When she finally admitted that she was also embrassed by herself I wanted to jump in the drama and give her a big hug. I'm hoping this drama will let Gong Shim bloom from the "beast" into a beauty. Whether she gets a makeover or not. I want her to be happy.
The setup for the guys, Dan Tae and Joon Soo, was setup and solved already!! Ha-ha. I'm thinking that their story will focus on them becoming friends. Then the "discovery" will happen. Either way I really like both male leads and love that right now they're friends. Or at least a budding friendship. I also like that both have already met Gong Shim.
Meeting Gong Mi will come later I assume. It's said that Seo Hyo Rim seems to always be stuck playing such cold and allufe characters. Like I said, I really wanted to see some heart warming sister action. Oh, well. I really loved seeing the sexism issue at work for her though. It sucks being told by your boss that you've just been hired for eyecandy and you have to keep the male clients' attention. I'm wondering how sexual harassment in the work place is really handled in Korea. Because if you judge from dramas these ladies just don't get cut at the paychecks.
This drama was sweet and hilarious. Gong Shim's clever bike bell antics were priceless. I also loved how her honesty and bluntness with the guys shocked them. It's clear to me Gong Shim could very well turn out to be one of my fave female leads. The setup for how everyone ties together is pretty fun. And despite that I wanted the sisters to be friends I enjoy the face off that's being setup. (Duh, I'm on Gong Shim's side.)

Dear My Friends Episode 3

There had better be a better reason why Park Wan is doing this! It can't just be her mother's wish to not date/marry a married man or cripple. Because she's definitely doing something with both. But why is she hurting? I know only part of the story is being revealed but Park Wan and Yeon Ha are a couple I am already rooting for. They're has to be more to the story.
Jung Ah and Hee Ja's friendship is so moving. Especially as He Ja goes and helps Jung Ah out. This episode is a roller coaster ride of their friendship and I love this whole group of older women.
Oh, and the music is so on point. Especially during some of *cough* Hee Ja's desperate/foolish attempts. Not to mention that big "bebopper" music as the guy tries to put the moves on Hee Ja! Especially as she asks herself "That's gross. We're old what does he think is going to happen?" Ha!
Nan Hee is really becoming unlikable. To hold a grudge that passionate for that long against Yeong Won is tiring. Especially since her husband stayed with her. Yeong Won didn't have the affair. Sadly she's truly naïve.
Choong Nam is a mysterious character, and I'm actually starting to become curious. I'm looking forward to more of her. Min Ho finally starts to understand his mother, and the scene with him and his wife is moving. Especially as he cries for his mother. Realizing how precious she is to him. Jung Ah not realizing that her daughter is also suffering from abuse baffles me. She should be able to see the signs. As an abused woman. They both might be abused to varying degrees. I just hope the abuse Jung Ah's daughter is suffering is not brushed off, or simply a "gimmick". It should be addressed properly.
This was a wonderfully moving episode. Though that ending. I kept wondering how the Thelma and Louise stuff would come in. But I don't think--no--I don't want THIS drama to go that way. Hmmmmm. The previews make me excited for all the other story threads except for Hee Ja and Jung Ah's. Which is no good as they are such a great treat in this drama. We'll see.

Rooftop Prince Episode 10

Well at least Park Ha finally takes her chances and punches Tae Yong. Personally he deserves it. Because it's clear he is fully aware of the feelings he has for Park Ha. He knows he's going to be making Se Na his woman. But he won't let Park Ha move on. To be quite honest I'm enamored with the idea of Yong Sul getting the girl.
However, I'm pretty much giving up on any decent side character building. It's the bare necessities.
Se Na's burning hatred for Park Ha is super scary. And losing some of it's power. As I'm constantly wondering how she can justify her actions. She declares that she will "take away everything" from Park Ha. But she's done that many times over and over. Se Na keeps believing that Park Ha is sabotaging her because that's what she herself would do. But Se Na has to have some kind of limit.
For me this will be the last review I do episode wise. I'm power watching the final 9 episodes. I need this drama to be over.

Mirror of the Witch Episode 4

Yoon Shi Yoon delivers a riveting performance as Heo Jun in this episode. Holy feelings. I felt the urge to cry my eyes out with this guy. Sadly I fear it is not the end of his tears here.
No. Episode 4 is a doozy. Not only are the writers of Mirror of the Witch letting us know that it's life and death here, it's going to spill over into the next episode. Episode 1 was not a fluke. This is dark fantasy and by--my breaking heart--characters will/are dying.
There were some tropes here. Choi Hyun Seo definitely is paying dearly for not sharing information. Annoying yes, but I accept it. Because he PAYS for it. Though I wander why such great men always get stuck with weak women? I blame an arranged marriage in the case of Choi Hyun Seo and his wife. Though I would have thought she'd know enough that the Chief Shaman is evil, and her husband is a great man.
This signals the first quarter of this story, and the point in which I decide to continue or drop a series. Well I'm continuing it! If they keep up this pace there's endless possibilities for the story! No fillers. I believe there are still enough side characters to keep things going there's a lot of working gears here. Not to mention that I'm invested. It seems like side characters such as Poong Yeon and Soon Hwea won't be getting much time. Instead they're damsels.
That's right Seo Ri's brothers are the damsels. She will be in charge of her fate and saving them. Everything depends on her womaning up and making it happen. I'm sure that Heo Jun will factor in. But I am thrilled that the supposed damsel, the lady cursed, will be the one to save herself.

Apparently the writers have decided to go light on character development and unique ideas. Because trope after trope is being wrote in.
A new Chairman. One guesses who's mother that is. Psh.
Not to mention that not only are the flashbacks bogging things down. But this episode just flashbacked many times to scenes from this episode.
Pretty sure I'm invested. But I don't see what all the hype is about.

Wow, only 3 episodes left and Healer is still cranking out top notch episodes! It amazes me every episode is fully utilized. There is no feeler.
For the sake of not giving away spoilers I'll just say that this episode balanced the mystery, romance, action, and overall story perfectly! I can't believe I've just got three more episodes left!
I love how Jung Hoo and Yeong Shin's relationship is still developing. While Moon Ho never doubted whether Jung Hoo killed that man, Yeong Shin needed to be able to ask. I loved that Healer was trying to give her time to realize that she could trust him, AND that he wanted her to ask questions. There was this gorgeous dual scene where we get to see into both their heads.
Moon Ho may now be up on the chopping block, and I've very curious now if the Elders plan to get rid of him can still go into affect. Especially after that cliffhanger! Way to go Team Jung Hoo! Though I was really disappointed that Myung Hee has already been found out. But I suppose Moon Shik is used to people trying to listen in on him.
On a side note I love how Yeong Shin interacts with Min Ja. Even Min Ja can't resist Yeong Shin's charm!
Either way I can't wait for what the last 3 episodes have in store.

It's official Jung Hoo and Yeong Shin are my favorite drama couple ever! Maybe my top couples period. Either way this was fantastic! Yeong Shin is truly amazing, and I am so happy that she told him with or without the proof come back to her. Or if it's an innocent or guilty verdict.
Sadly bad timing ends this cliffhanger! May they're undying faith in each other live on!!

Yeong Shin, your the bomb! I love this girl. Her confidence in herself and her ability to understand what she wants. I love that she decides and stands up for herself. She might be afraid but it's worth the risk.
Not to mention the beautiful flashbacks of teacher and Healer. It makes viewers understand that this man was his father. What a wonderful story. It only makes this episode even more painful.
Thankfully it's balanced out by very powerful emotions of love. Wow. This episode left be breathless. Even with the "slow" moments it balanced out keeping the plot going and keeping viewers in emotional distress.
Warning: This ends on a cliffhanger that you will promptly want to follow-up with the next episode.
(Side note. Who were those other guys that held Healer back? Were they police on his side? More lackeys we didn't no about?)

That date! First off all props to my girl Yeong Shin! It might have been a crush and silly confession that her heart is too full. But she went out and got what she wanted! No silliness. Yeong Shin knows what, whom, she wants and goes for it!
The writers did a fantastic job with the date. Yeong Shin accepted the limitations and he gave her his answer. Not to mention that hand hold. It was more powerful than the kiss. The slow slide and finger weave. Yeong Shin in the light and Healer in the dark. Even with out facing each other or gazing into each others eyes the chemistry was off the charts! All of these tension is killing me.
It was also a relief to hear what Healer said about Yeong Shin being the woman to go to his island. She might be mad and hit him at first but she would understand. She'd dance it off. It's so magical how well these two know each other, and that the writing has created that type of knowledge. Three dimensional characters. (I know I keep saying it, but I can't help it.)
With all the storylines going I truly thought at some point a character line or a plot thread would be dropped. But it's all coming together beautifully. I'm curious to see who's "side" each character is going to take. Where in the event of things they'll be left standing. I'm pretty sure I know what really happened. But I'm curious about The Elder and how he fits in. Not to mention how Healer's and Moon Ho's alliance will hold up. Especially now that they're tentatively trusting each other.
Not to mention what's going to happen with Moon Shik wanting to own Healer. Healer really puts his face out there this episode. With Myung Hee having "recognized" him and tossing his father's name out it's all easy steps for Moon Shik to make the connections. Especially with Healer's actions at the end of the episode.
HIs passion is moving, but I'm so nervous!

Well Healer getting sloppy!! His romantic side is showing. ^_- Will it be his downfall? Queue dramatic music.
Ooo, I love a good conspiracy. I just new something would be fishy with Jun Seok's suicide and the friend he supposedly killed for money. This is so dramatic and complex, but I'm happy the writers are keeping it on track. It could all become easily convoluted.
What I'm more interested in is how Moon Shik is truly a puppet. Did the actions that he took put him in that place? The flashback meeting with Moon Shik and the Elder confused me. Moon Shik looked like he was dealing well and climbing the corporate ladder. (Maybe with that money that Jun Seok was supposed to have murdered over?) The Elder took an interest then? Or were they slightly in league even then. Hmmm? Obviously Moon Shik is going to want to be Arthur instead of Merlin If he doesn't I'd be really surprised.
Healer Yeong Shin! That elevator scene! That roof scene!? (I think Healer is going to be the drama of amazing roof scenes.) Was Healer just testing Yeong Shin? Does he want her to like Healer and not Bong Soo? Or I don't know! He didn't seem to upset that she turned down Bong Soo's confession. Though I do like how in that moment she noticed that he was "another person".
Man, the sexual tension is killing me.! The fact that's it's sexual tension and not just random cute romantic tension makes this all the sweeter. There's a lot of drama tropes here, but I love how well they're being executed. The writers are amazing and all of the characters are so well realized.

What a tangled web! Things are starting to clear up. The flashbacks continue off and on, but not enough to over power the story. I like the overlay that they do to transition from past to present. The style is growing on me and it's not so hard to follow.
The leads are very compelling and I'm definitely enjoying it. It's very interesting watching them interact. Especially as Healer is playing that goofy role to get close to Young Shin. (And I'm going to keep referring to him as Healer because he goes by a lot of names so far. It will be easier this way.)
The tabloid story that Young Shin is working on after helping that woman is very compelling. It's a tragic story and sadly becoming a common tale for women. Not just aspiring actresses. I wonder how things will pan with Young Shin doing the research? Not to mention what's going on with the Jian group?
