Parts of it are okay, but sometimes all I could think was WTF am I watching? I didn't find the big twist terribly surprising either. Overall, it's an average-to-slightly ridiculous thriller. I wouldn't really recommend it, but was watchable enough.

I watched this without subtitles, and it was still pretty good. The main actress is definitely way too pretty for the role, though. It doesn't make any sense when they call her a plain old lady, because she's clearly gorgeous. I mean, just look at her on the cover. Regardless, it was nice to see Yousuke playing another eccentric character, even if it was only a small part. Slightly crazy really seems to be his specialty.

I loved the anime, but this was just too over the top. Sunako and Yukinojo were cast very well, but everyone else seemed to be kind of straining to fit into their roles, and it felt off. Gave up about halfway through when it didn't get any better.

This one is a classic. Easily one of the best live-action anime adaptations I've ever seen. Sorimachi really nailed Onizuka's personality and expressions, and he and Matsushima had so much chemistry. That, and you actually come away from it feeling inspired.

Still my favourite drama ever. The story and characters are both so unique, the acting is great, and it's very fast-paced. So many dramas just drag on and on for the first few episodes, but this one catches you right from the start and never slows down. I actually just rewatched some of it recently, and I'm almost tempted to revisit even more after writing this. If you like gritty delinquent/mystery dramas, definitely give it a try.

I think the casting of this season was much better than the second one. The host is supposed to be eccentric and loud when the camera is on, but tormented the moment he stops working, and Katagiri nailed that. He really gave the character a sharp contrast between a sort of manic energy and quiet confusion. Totsugi played the cold and sadistic role so well that I actually felt sorry for him when his breakdown came. Granted, some of the episodes were hit and miss, and the ending was kind of irritating. Still, I had fun watching it, and the two leads were very good.
