Sorry for being positive about things i like.If they have 1% what i don't like then its ok with me.You can be your critical self.And if you want it in short i believe korean japanese n taiwanese dramas are the least abusive of all media in the world.I don't know about thai larkons.
Being a girl myself i still can't agree with your article.Firstly abuse of women is everywhere so why do you point to Asian countries? I believe that women in Asian countries are more content than most women.Also there is no reason to point to Korean ,Taiwanese or Japanese dramas.Nowadays every media in every country shows worser scenes than these.Theses are decent scenes.Why do look at the act of forced kisses and wrist grabs?I love these dramas because most of the female leads have a strong role who react to these acts from any other person.In Secret garden Ha Ji Won is a stunts woman.You know she knows how to defend herself.If you have actually watched the scene you will see how strongly she is speaking to him.Does she look abused? Seriously! And about Reply 1997 you know how strong the female lead is.If you don't like these Asian dramas then don't watch them.Why do you use the word abuse?I agree that yes some dramas have such scenes in them .Why don't you skip the dramas the way i did? I agree that they show women innocent and hesitant during kiss scenes etc and that's because they don't think a decent woman takes initiative in such things,which i believe is a wrong opinion.So i accept Asian countries are not sexually liberated.But I challenge anyone to suggest any country whose dramas , movies are more decent,imaginative and fresh than these Korean,Taiwanese and japanese dramas.All English Series,Movies show sexually liberated women but still these woman don't seem any happier in these .They are still discontent.I love these dramas as here atleast everyone seems happy.No one has trust and fidelity issues.Also yes getting married off is common in these dramas.So what.. Asian countries prefer marriages to single hood.English Series show relationship,break-ups,divorces.At the end of the day ,marriage or dating ,almost everything is common except that marriage is legally binding.I love Korean dramas.They make me laugh,inspire me and i have liked almost all male leads.But more that that i like the characters played by female lead- Strong,Ethical and smart.They are only rare cases where they are submissive .think of Secret garden,i hear your voice,Healer etc.take it light.I love many aspects of these dramas.I don't like the married off aspect and so i ignore it.Its the most decent entertainment you'll find.
