I really loved the one from King2Heats and City Hunter. I remember the story vividly when I hear them. I don't really remember the OST for Queen In Hyun's Man so it didn't bring back as many memories but I do remember that it was really beautiful while I was watching the show.

Ah Jun... I love him so much but it's true. He's mischievous and sure of himself that leads to a little attitude (in a good way). I mean, come on, the man doesn't walk, he swaggers. Also, he has this really awesome smirk that's Harrison Ford-esque. Every time I see it I think Han Solo.

Studio audience? No television audience is going to want to listen to fan girl squealing. They better be careful about how they pick their audience. A few squee's are fine but too many and it'll get annoying...

I absolutely loved paradise kiss! And the people at my job who saw me watching it during my break loved it too even though they don't like foreign dramas. ;)

Can I just say that this reflects many conversations I've had with my Mom, my extended family, my friends and my boyfriend? I'm playing me and brain is whoever I'm talking to. The dramas may be different but the idea is the same.

I've been having so much fun with this drama! And I agree, the not cringing when someone spoke English was a nice change. It can only be adorable for so long before you start to wonder why they don't try to improve or at least get a language coach for those scenes.

Woah long list! I haven't seen everything on here but I totally agree about Special A, Fruits Basket, and Kaichou wa Maid-sama. I actually added a couple anime to my to watch list from this so thanks for that. :) You got me thinking about Full Metal Alchemist. I agree that it would be awesome but I'm leary of the arm issue. Let's face it, they even cut the prosthetic leg from The Hunger Games because of issues with CGI, time, and money (and that was a multi-billion dollar franchise). Could they make it work? Probably, but could you do it justice? That's more questionable. I would love to see them stick it to Hollywood though!

I've got three of your six. I totally use chopsticks better than any of my friends. I use Japanese and Korean words all the time, though I confess that's just something I always did with my friends from high school. Originally it was Apanish and French words but it morphed when we became d-addicts. I also find myself doing the little bow when I see people. I used to just give the 'sup nod but now it's a little bow. I haven't ever done the full bow though! ;)

Wow, I really never noticed that much before. There is also a bathroom scene in The King 2 Hearts when the guys…
There's also that initial scene where Hang Ah beats up Jae Ha in the bathroom. I loved his face when he was asking her how she knew he had a mole!

Gah! So I totally agree with Yamato Nadeshiko, and Faith. But with Faith and King 2 Hearts I actually liked the scenes for the main characters. The Choi Young freak out over Eun Soo being poisoned and the scene where Hang Ah tried calling Jae Ha Oppa were just too sweet and cute for me and I loved them.

I literally just wrote a post on my livejournal about how I've been on a Lee Min Ho kick recently. I watched Faith and City Hunter in like a week and a half and am watching Personal Taste right now. For some reason when I watched BBF I didn't fall in love with him but now I'm all "Why have you been in so few things? I'm going to run out too fast!" Thank you for writing this.

I'm really glad Tabe-chan was recognized for Ooku. She did an amazing job with it and it was really different from her usual stuff.

Oh my gosh! I love your sarcastic captions and you have a great point. You can't actually say "I love you" until the last possible second. Before then it must be all subtext. I personally loved it in Goong when you get all these secret signs of love and then he goes and decides to tell all on national TV. It would have been really awsome if she could have kept her mouth shut. Oh well. Thanks for this! It's making my artice hall of fame.

I started with the anime, then the drama, then read part of the manga. The anime was fun because I was watching with my friends. When I go back and watch it now, it's too over the top for me. The drama was my first and really changed my entertainment habits. I watch drama more often then US tv now. When I went to read the manga, I found it really disturbing. It was too perverted for me. Thanks for writing this. It's always nice to see others liking what started my addiction!

Some of these I can't see but I agree that Tamamori Yuta and Calvin Chen look a lot alike. I think that MatsuJun used to look a lot like Mizushima Hiro but after about age 21 he really matured in his face and they don't look at all alike any more.<br />Also, one I'm surprised you missed: Ninomiya Kazunari and Naka Riisa. They are not related but could be fraternal twins when you put their faces next to each other. Obviously one's a girl and one's a guy but the similarity is still eerie.

Speaking as a bio major who has actually studied the spread of diseases, this article is adorably witty and fun! It made me laugh with the mix of technicality and fun-ness. Also, really true. I started with the Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge anime into the drama. I especially loved the disclaimer. Great Job!

I have actually thought about this before and came to this conclusion. Dramas are not real life. We should not be taking them as real life. Yes, many dramas (and not just from Korea) glamorize the situation of bullying in schools. There are, however, many cases where these dramas find some character to stand up and say it is wrong. Someone eventually fights back and says stop. But before we go and say that these screenwriters are so wrong, maybe we should consider what is being shown on TV in our own countries. I know a lot of tv shows and movies I can see any night show all sorts of violent behavior and it is never called out. Should all the positive portrayals of violence stop (Not just bullying)? Yes, but getting it to happen is very difficult becuase we all love those action thrillers where our hero is shooting guns right and left.

I actually prefer the movie Koizora. I don't mind that the story is sad but it just lasted so long with the drama that I started getting depressed and didn't want to watch anymore. I finished it anyway but the movie was just enough angst for me. This is possibly due to dealing with a lot of family deaths around the time I watched it. Real life stress plus drama angst was a bad combo at the time. Maybe I'll see if I like the drama any better now...
