rewatching this for the third time— i’m incredibly addicted! ms. oh’s love for so mun is pure, and makes me smile each time she does something out of worry.
I haven’t been this excited about a drama since I watched “Because This is my First Life” back in fall 2020. Truly something that touched me and I’ll be rewatching this over and over for a long time, just as I am right now. I am utterly obsessed with every member of the cast and surprised by how well some of them did. I got attached to characters I had not expected to be fond of, and I felt empathy for so many characters. I haven’t wanted to write a review on a drama since I watched Reply 1988, but I’m feeling it strongly right now!
I just need to take a minute to fangirl over how interesting of a character they created in Ji Chung Shin! He…
I completely agree! Every single one of his moves up until he became one with the demon had some sort of meaning behind it. He did it for his father and to save himself always, and it really goes to show how important his father’s role played in how he ended up becoming. He wouldn’t have turned out as bad as he was if his father had just done what a father should be doing— caring and loving for their child while teaching them better. No matter how many bad things sin did, he had some flicker of hope in his heart that could’ve been saved by some tender love and care.
i watched this a while ago, but i would love to see ljs do a role like this again, but with a more intense character? this movie was great and i'll probably watch it many times over, but i would've loved to see ljs' character outsmart more people or take part in more crimes. maybe it's because i'm more used to dramas so i wanted to see longer moments to take place, but having him just sitting around in cuffs was kind of eh... ljs would look AWESOME in another movie or show with a similar plot or character-- he plays the psychopath beautifully. the scene where yi-do asked gwang-il if he could "get it up" and he went bonkers was SO GOOD??? i really loved the cast for this movie, and i would love to see more movies like this. i think it was just my taste because i'm not into super-duper sappy crime shows/movies where everyone's crying and shit. i want to see all the crazy shit, and maybe that's the american taste in me. seeing ljs play a role like will smith's character in bad boys 2. can't wait to rewatch this!!
not intensely, but in a sense, that's sort of the charm?? it isn't cringy or cheesy in a negative way AT ALL :)) 100% recommend it-- i'm about to rewatch it!
every single thing about this movie was essential to building up the world that would eventually suck you in. this film was stunning and i couldn't stop sobbing during as well as after i watched it. i had finished it at around 2 am last night and i honestly might watch it again tonight! beautiful
