Well it was really enjoyable to watch (until the very end) and drama would get 10 if they wouldn't kill Ali's character for no reason at all. That was literally killer of White Duel's worth itself.

This unjust treatment of Ali by TVB is the worst imho. Killing her at the end of White Duel was the most illogical and unwarranted "bee ass" that I had seen (at the time), although now it parallels killing Dino in Legal Mavericks 2. Her death in first Legal Mavericks was not warranted but, well, at least it was within the logic of drama, as TY's brutal killing spree was justified by his character.

This HK drama by TVB is a perfect masterpiece. No weaknesses from any professional point of view. But ratings also reflect people's tastes, which really explains the low overall rating. Alas.

Haha, exactly mine (and likely many others too) initial reaction, somewhat justified bias, yet gone for good after watching series full, as it's not really important anymore. It's worth to watch, enough room to connect with characters emotionally, feel for them and get satisfied along the long 43 episodes run. Hope you enjoyed it in the end as well ;)
