That's why even though i like her i sometimes can't stand her. CX and XL couldn't confess their feelings because she made it clear from the begining what kind of man she wants. Someone ready to give up everything for her, who can have only her and never abondon her. But the world doesn't turn around her even though they both love her they can't abondon theit duties. Both of them are meant to make great things and it's a pity that TJ is stuck in love and can't see anything beyond

And when he asked her what kind of man she said "someone who can have only me" which means anyone but not you.. poor CX even though he knows he can never have her he's still willing to give up his own happiness to protect her.. there's also another scene where he said "that as long as one of them are happy his contended"

Yes but Unfortunetly in the novel she will break her promise (to her grandma, to always support rach other and never give up on each other no matter what) and she will leave him behind because he killed TJ (whom she will brough back to life)

I honestly prefer their bond as brother & sister (they have a mutual understanding on each other radher than her relationship with TJ (it feels like a master and his puppy.. she's always the dominant one and his always the one who follow

She choosed the right guy, TJ fits her criteria perfectly that's not my problem.

I'm just saying that her motivation are selfish. I can understand that she's traumatised and fear abondment but choosing someone just because you feel he's the safest one, i find it wrong.

In her relationship with TJ, she's the one who makes the call and his the one who always follow.. i know that TJ is willing to do that but losing yourself just because you want to make the other one happy is wrong.

XY choosed the most safest man (i can understand it but i still won't support it because both XL and CX did way much more for her than TJ)

Sometimes i feel like she needed someone whom she could control easily, both CX & XL wouldn't followed her blindly, they had their duty, aspiration and personnality. Only TJ was willing to give up everything including himself for her (which for me is wrong and quite selfish of XY, that's why i never liked their relationship.. it seemed like a master and his puppy.. for me that's not love and that's not how a couple should be.. i'd radher a relationship between equal leads like in the drama "who rules the world", both of them were capable and supported each other by staying true to themselves, that was much more healthy

CX stole the show.. i wish the drama where more focused on him than on XY and her love affairs. Among them all i find him the most pitiful and the most enduring.. from the begining he knew that the path he choosed will deprieve him of happiness yet he still followed it to protect those that he loves.. +how can someone never expect anything ? It was such a heartbreaking scene when he told XY to never expect anything to not be disoppointed.. it seems like he gave up on love, hope and all the beautiful things that the world has to offer.. and knowing that at the end that XY will leave him behind (even though he married and did all of this mostly to protect her) i found it quite tragic. But at least he was a great emperor, his efforts and pain weren't in vain.

Without CX and XL there is no drama !
I honestly don't like the relationship between TJ and XY (one is weak, without purpose and personality and the other is sometimes too selfish for me to support her) but one thing is sure, they both want the same thing and have the same vision (living a carefree & happy life)

Unlike CX & XL who are willing to sacrifice and give up their own happiness for the greater cause, without complain and in silence.

She broke her promise (to her grandma) ! It's a pity that for a men the two will fall apart.. but in any way that's better for CX, since his love is unrequired and she consider TJ more important than him, then better be off.

He should focus on building a better world just like his grandpa wanted and trusted him to do. I just hope that he will live up to his expectation and be a great emperor.

I also like XL especially the fact that he won't abondon his believes and goals for the love of a women (it may seem heartless but at least his true to himself until the end).. sometimes i even find XY quite selfish to want a man who would give up everything for her.. Honestly for me both CX and XL are great on their own.. and i would have hate it if they were willing to change just to fit XY perfect match (witch i found quite idealistic and sometimes stupid).. loving someone doesn't mean you have to betray yourself and fit his criteria and needs

That was expected, usually those at his position have always the worst ending.. can you please tell me how does he end ?

My favorite character is Cang Xuan (i find his story way more interesting than the others), his complexity, his ambition and he's will to exchange his own happiness for the peace of the world and to protect those that he loves i found it quite admirable and brave.

i like Xiao Yao but she's quite simple compared to her gege.. she's not decesive, neither visionary.. she mostly relies on her emotion (witch is not bad, but in her position as a "great princess" i think she could play a bigger role than just want to marry a man who would love and support her forever..)

I didn't read the novel but i'm quite sure that at the end the most pitiful character will definetly be CX. Usually those at the top will end lonely and full of regrets (that's the price to pay when you put the bigger picture before your own happiness)

That's why for me even though the story is about XY and all the man that loved her.. CX is the one that stole the show (he may won't lead an ever happy life with a loving wife and cute children but he will definetly leave behind a unifited and peaceful kingdom)

i have mixed feelings about this drama. i can' stand the female lead i don't know if it's because of the actress or because her role sucks but i hate her character : too arrogant, too innocent, too bland.. even though the screenwriters try to make her seems intelligent i just can't stand her attitude. and what's wrong with the male lead ? he kept chasing after her without even caring about his pride.. he made so much things for her but she was always stupid to not notice.. all the way he looks like a puppy and lost all his charms. plus i can't feel any chemistry between the actors.. i really don't know if i should keep watching.. it's the first time in my life that i don't root for the main couple.. what a waste ! please feel free to share your opinion with me, thanks
