Trigger Warnings Should Be Included

I cannot believe that this episode was even okay to air... From the beginning, ep 1, there were already lots of red flags, like those mentioned in another review ("crossing boundaries, sexual assault, toxic insecurity") and now rape is included in this ep. None of this is adding to the storyline and I don't understand how any of this is okay. If you watch this ep, watch with caution and the trigger warnings.

What an episode!

Wow, what an episode! The storyline certainly has reeved up and the acting is on point. This ep pulls on all your heart strings. Get ready for all the feels! I love how it wrapped up one storyline (in a tidy neat bow) and there's another one to finish out The Water. I am not ready for The Water to be completed.

Dragged my feet to watch ep 8 and throughout…

Dragged my feet to watch ep 8 and throughout it all, I was baffled at this show and the ending. I have never read the book, and from others' advice, I wouldn't dare to. There could have been so much more potential for the show. Adaptations do not mean creativity is stifled to follow a book 100%. Make it work, tweak it, make it your own. The editing and storylines were choppy at times and I could not root for the main couple after the r*pe. I wish there were more scenes with Fay and Peach, as they were the cutest (and more sensible) couple in this series.

Storylines

I find the storylines very choppy. There is barely any explanation or shows the in-between (or the background) - one has to infer. It is episode 3 now and we still have no idea why Arisa and Uncle Mek are seeking revenge. I guess the screenwriters think that the audience will fill in the gaps on their own. As another reviewer mentioned, I am not entirely sold on the relationship either. I wonder if it is because it is showing on YouTube, that the writing, editing, and acting are tailored more towards a general audience.

Almost Halfway!

We are almost to the midpoint of 12 episodes - almost halfway. The storylines are feeling more established and there are a bit more background to flush out some of the characters' pasts.

Insufficient Apology for SA

The storyline has gotten better, but it has also started to speed through the rest of the episodes. With only 2 more episodes left, they wrapped up one storyline real quick, or it seems so but after the flashbacks... the hints came in. As for the "apology" for SA, I still think that is a non-apology, very insufficient for the trauma that the victim has endeared. Even if it was a "misunderstanding" this is not "oh, I thought we were going to this restaurant for dinner or etc.," this is beyond a misunderstanding and respecting a person. I really hope that people do not view this as being okay. Yes, it is a story, but SA victims and their experiences should not be "brushed" aside. This relationship still has lots of 🚩🚩🚩. Yay for the continuing Peach and Fay storyline.

First Episode Delivered!

The first episode delivered! What I had expected from the promos and how the show started is promising - may it continue its rhythm throughout! There were no wasted minutes in this episode and we all dove in together. There was witty dialogue, over-the-top comedy, and great scenery. One can tell that the cast and crew had a great experience filming this show, it just simply jumps at us through the screen. The artwork (and the music) for the opening and closing credits are simply amazing. I am not one that usually tunes in for the entire opening and closing credits but they were creative and fun.

Finding Its Footing

I know that the first few episodes are usually trying to find its footing with introductions to characters, their storylines, and establishing the rest of the episodes. The first few episodes were also a bit over the top for me and was landing in inappropriate workplace situations as well. I was vested just because of The Earth and the characters but I really was not enjoying episode 1 and 2 of The Water at first. Episode 3 found its footing and the dialogue and meaning behind them are deeper than one expects. We are about halfway through!

The only redeeming part of this episode was Peach and Fay, as I am only watching for them. Continuing🚩🚩🚩on Rafah's behavior. Love bombing and only 1-sided conversations, no communication.

Cringe

I totally understand that it is a story, but as another reviewer mentioned, they basically dismissed a sexual assault victim, "made" it okay because Rafah asked Sun to be her girlfriend. The operative word "girlfriend" because another round... This episode was all kinds of cringe and🚩🚩🚩. I had thought about stopping the show entirely, but I am rooting for Fay and Peach.

I totally agree with the other reviewer. The plot was really a bit nonexistent in this show. It seems like they tried to throw everything into the storyline but it was really all over the place. After finishing the show, I stand by my first review that the emotions were giving me whiplash. One minute they are happy, the other minute they miscommunicate, but then another minute they are okay. LenaMiu really carried this show, but the writing really could have been a lot better.

This show is like a whiplash of emotions... Lin and Jane are up one second and down another. Communication for them is non-existent and as adults in a "relationship," this will get them nowhere. I really wanted to like this show, and will continue to watch until the end. It is interesting how it also feels like Lin is at the center of most people's "desires." Like how is this even happening? Not meaning in a bad way, and there is no explanation or showing who is sending Jane flowers every month. There is not much background and everything seems piece mealed together.
