Gotta disagree about the plot being for kids, people of all ages enjoy light easy fluffy dramas and plots like this. Yeah it's not perfect, the cliches can get annoying, that's how most dramas are especially ones like this.. ML is stone faced in the beginning but it's for a purpose - he was putting up a wall bc he was in love with who he thought was the gamer and this woman was coming on to him aggressively. He was doing it's bc he didn't want to give her the wrong idea. Surely you could see how much he opened up after he found out who she was? LY chooses scripts like that that involve character development (smile code is another that comes to mind where he is stiff at first and opens up). He is a good actor. I agree that FL's anger toward him was annoying, it was obviously just used as a plot device although it was supposed to be bc she was still mad at him for rejecting her and not telling her he was the gamer she was talking to etc. and she was refusing to let that go...she got a little irritating yes.

I actually think he chooses really good scripts that have something unique and are different from the norm which gets them hate sometimes. He seems to want scripts that are different and with the potential for good chemistry...whether or not that always happens is another story, a lot depends on the rest of the cast. But I like the scripts he chooses.

There is no major age gap here. The mom just said in today's eps that FL is 25 (in the novel she was 22). ML was said to be 22 when he retired in 2020.
