this issue was so overblown. at this point the online harassment of the actors with thousands of nasty racist comments is undeniably worse and more malicious than anything this drama did in regard to the portrayal of that specific character. just embarrassing, vile and uncivilized. if thats how you truly wanted your “culture” to be represented to the world, congratulations! we all heard you.
i wont be surprised if more people start checking out this drama out of sheer curiosity after this controversy lmao the review bombing and spams are giving it more publicity if anything. wouldn’t it be wiser to take your complaints to the network which is directly responsible for this?💀 like seriously mdl has no affiliation to jtbc i hope you people realize that
yeah, I think KTL viewer knows its flaw, they just think the butterfly feeling is worth it and chose to focus…
exactly like if you’re not the target audience of king the land it’s ok but unfortunately the way some of the commenters frame their opinions comes off as condescending as if not liking tropey romcoms makes them superior or whatever lol
and yesss fans of that other drama are so defensive, shutting down any sort of criticism with passive aggressive tones and pretending it’s a flawless masterpiece..
i don’t see a problem with negative comments that have valid criticism towards some aspects of the plot and characterization etc etc… however, the constant comparison between this drama and see you in my 19th life is just ridiculous because what do these 2 shows have in common other than both being korean dramas airing on the same days of the week lol “see you in my 19th life is so much better” like i don’t even go there but if we’re really having this conversation, the only thing I would add is that in my opinion syimnl isn’t half as deep and well written as the fans make it out to be and pretending its on a whole different level compared to this drama quality wise is laughable. a lot is lacking in that drama in its respective genre as well, its just a matter of preference.
this week’s episodes were definitely more enjoyable than the first two. im ok with the pacing but I admit i find myself skipping some scenes, the side characters don’t interest me much unfortunately.
eh 7/10 for me. the romance was so well done and i grew to love the high school kiddos friendship dynamics. (the acting was great too obviously) but other than that, every single subplot was either uninteresting, poorly executed or just straight up weird.
its been around from the start but its been taking too much screen time lately and its not even executed well,…
Maybe if the whole mystery element wasn’t so out of place (imo) i wouldn’t mind the tension but like i said i should reserve my judgment until it completely unfolds i guess :)

@ice-and-ivy this episode specifically was like %70 tension with few nice scenes and interactions between the leads here and there which I didn’t like. if there’ll be a good takeaway from the assistant’s story and intention behind the murders , i will change my mind.
this was a solid 9/10 for me but they kinda lost me with this week’s episodes as the murder subplot is starting to take up too much screen time. i hope at least it gets resolved next week and we can be done with it?
