Good news! The Kuyun broadcast data for Aasol playback volume yesterday was 5384 putting it at the top of the drama list and making Aasol officially a hot drama if it can maintain over 5000 throughout the broadcast. I prefer to look at Kuyun and Yunhe data because they look at the broadcast volume. Other indices like Datawin can be artificially inflated by fans through their reposting, likes and comments.

I guess being an orphan with no family support and a having a coach father figure that gave up on him halfway is pretty traumatic. I suddenly realized all the past few dramas that Wu Lei played, he was an orphan in all of them. LLTG, the Long Ballad, Nothing but You, Set Sail. It would be nice if he had a supporting family in his next drama.

This is a big budget S+ drama so it’s easier to attract promising young actors on set. Some actors who play leads in lower budget A dramas are quite happy to play supporting roles in an S+ drama with the hope they will be noticed if the drama is popular. I love the eye candy too. After finishing a thriller that gave me too much suspense and hand wringing, I’m happy to relax with a fluffy romance with plenty of eye candy

But the censorship board cut off 6 episodes . That’s a lot! I suppose they would only cut off the steamy scenes? Censorship won’t bother about the boring scenes. It’s not their job to make the drama interesting

Irl many brands are probably getting them to wear their clothes/shoes for the drama.

I see many cnetz shipping LYY and YQ on Weibo too. Haha, I suppose it's good, strong chemistry translates to higher viewership.

Yes, it’s very popular. The Tencent heat index broke 25000 on the first day. Only 2 other dramas this year n last year achieved that. Today which is just day 3 it is already at the top of Tencent’s best selling drama. But it’s also getting a lot of 1-2 star commentary on Douban. I guess this genre may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Only the first part of the airing schedule until ep 16 came out. I expect the second half to continue seamlessly

This drama is so nice and engaging to watch, I don’t know why it’s not more popular, especially in China. The chemistry between the leads was amazing, I liked the comedy thrown in but hated the triangles which dragged on far too long. Two vicious triangles in fact. Those would be my only gripe. And I don’t know why but it reminded me of the Long Ballad.
