this! thank you! i've been saying this all over, how mature and serious this drama is, while giving us, in my opinion peak romance. it should have been as commercially successful as Law School or Vincenzo, cause it sure has the story for it. My pet peeve is also annoying baby-talk, and Soo Jae was the opposite of that: deep, enchanting voice. You reminded me why this drama rules! it had humour too, when Gong Chan drunkedly spits out his heart problems to the dinner lady and Soo Jae is right there! My heart is worth 7billion! we love an emotionally stable, charming man
all in all, a fair review. i couldn't get past episode 1 but i had the same problems. people say it's techically not problematic, as she's 19 but a. she looks and acts like she's 12 and b. barely regal is still problematic. even if, and it's a big if, we ignored this issue, which we shouldn't, they have no romantic chemistry together! it's like i'm watching my little sister with my creepy uncle.
I bet the series is ripe for people who love fantasy, but as it's not my preferred genre I was focused on the real world stuff. And toxic relationships are, sadly, too real.
Why would we support Ryu Jun Yeol when he left his ex AND his current girlfriend to dry on the news? He kept silent while the press was ravaging them both. So no, I won't be following his Squid Game wannabe attempt.
