Title Remarriage and Desires Spoiler
Only third-way in and it sounds like everything was poorly worded. Hyesung's whole mindset "my husband is a victim -that woman killed my husband, huuhuuu my poor husband" is tiresome. It was a two-person consensual affair, her dank husband was obviously in on it but she acts if Yoohee was the only one who seduced. Why not "that woman is adulterer and compulsive liar that coaxes her victims to death - Beware of that snake"? But surely, Hyesung only blames one guy. Haha and it's not the husband as always! *eyeroll*

This was so baaaaaaaaad for a daily.
The FL was so incredibly bad at revenge that the writers had to write in another ML to get work done. Gemma's peanut sized braincells were such a contagious spell, that it made the whole cast go ditzy. And the whole purpose of revenge ends up being built on misunderstandings, merry-go-murders and idiocy. What a bloody waste of a drama. Oh well, next.
On Here's My Plan May 27, 2021
Yah. I liked 1+2 but now FL is just firking nuts. What is with the character development here.
I thought this would be a nice, warm, growing runaway story so I'm flabbergasted at what's going on in 3. Were the writers drunk, high, or feeling spunky?
Even if she's upset and angry at the world and her life, there's no reason to spiral into that type of lowball downcast move. Even if y'all try to justify it didn't happen in the end? she still acted out that dirty plan. Man is Sohyun bonkers. I'll still stay to watch the end because there's only one more but WTF.

If I were straight up honest, I'd say this one's going to broil up into a mess if it continues like its pilot. But because I'm trying to be nice and also trying to be supportive for the lovely FLs: I'm doubtfully shrugging my shoulders & saying "Ok, we'll see how this goes...". This hits that wealthy class feeling that Penthouse wanted to allude, but not at the notch of Sky Castle's + every Rich-family-embroiled-in-a-murder-case . Some of it is overdone and some of it is underdone. Though not all rich people behave like royalty, we've got a half bunch of immature misbehaving riches that are contradictory to the classiness of the house. The seriousness and the comical timings are off quite often - which makes me question: Am I supposed to laugh at this when a maid is being abused? I'm having my fingers crossed for tomorrow. I wouldn't want to force myself to enjoy something I clearly don't.

I don't understand what the controversy has to do with the drama. I get that it's about the main actress. But…
Haha you go tell 'em. Everyone entitled to their own opinions and feelings as long as they're not hurting anyone through their commentary. If I don't want to watch a murderer on tv, I'm well within my rights to feel that way. In this case, after learning her cases, I also don't feel good supporting a toxic personality like Seo Yeji. I'll say that I'm iffy about her but I'm not gonna go around demanding people to stop supporting her - just like they're going around questioning your reasonings. If y'all don't agree and can't add something new just move on.

Secondly, it's not like you're forcing people to not watch this - you're just simply stating your opinion relating to this drama. What good is a review when all is positive? If all Amazon ratings were 5 stars, how would we know which one's actually a good product.

Lastly, Moonyoung's character was a mess for me and I don't think the writers understood-understood how to handle mental health. Someone should've put her put her into therapy first bc it's not okay to behave like that.
People say "Separate the art from the artist" but I say that's bullshirt. You go do that if you can, but I won't. The fanbase for this one's large so it's also pointless to argue; just as it's pointless for me to write this lmao.

I hope this doesn't put a stain on your view of jdramas because other dramas this season and next seasons have…
Nah, just the shoujo/josei - I can gives recent ones like Alice and Cherry Magic a pass. But damn, it sucks that romance on the jdrama side is so freaking dry and limited bc the characters aren't interesting and the plot is typical.
I haven't watched a good fluffy romance jdrama in a while and i'm hungry for some. The kdrama side is also having a similar drought these years even when a huge 70% of them dramas are romcoms.

I don't really have much issues with other genre jdramas, though no recent ones have caught my eye. Haven't really checked out this year's lineup but I guess I will later on^^
On Color of Romance Mar 31, 2021
Bruh this was embarrassingly bad that I can't bring myself to rate it - nor let anyone know I watched this. Which brings me to the point: Jdramas, stop making shirty adaptations out of shirty mangas; cut it out with the laziness and get some real scriptwriters. This content is on par with high schoolers on fanfiction writing out their thorny fantasies with zero romantic experience. I wouldn't read this even if it were a manga (despite my standards set so low when it comes to reading shoujo/josei bogus). The past 13 minutes I wasted on this - indescribable-flabbergasted- baffled.
In addition, a majority of the cast were stiff af. But hey, I'd be a muppet too if I had to act in this kind of cliche, trope-filled story. What a waste of production costs that could've been used on better stories.
Romance doesn't have to start off so aggressively sleezy like that ya know? There are healthier ways to write out your thorniness than drawing a man forcing himself on a woman every chance he gets. Jeez.

I think the first few episodes were aight but when the serial killer started doing that subplot 'imma kill x if you don't broadcast my crimes on live tv'; I was immediately like "oh it's that kind of drama again".
Personally, I don't get why a killer would want to bring exposure to themself but ok.
I feel like we've did that and done that plenty of times in the kdrama world.
I might watch a few more episodes before I drop but I'm less interested than initially.

Anyone else can name dramas that also have this serial killer livestream plot? 'Wanted' is one I remember though there's plenty others at the tip of my tongue.

Title She Would Never Know Spoiler
To each his own, but I'll tell you why I found the ML creepy and problematic.- the way he rubbed the lipstick…
2. People are blindsided when they're in love. When he pointed out the meetup at the crosswalk, he sounded entitled to her time and like he was going to take her on a date. It wasn't obvious and ML was skirting around his actions in the car. He made her fill in the dots till the end to justify his actions. No one wants to be dragged around with a non-friend coworker without knowing where they're headed and why. He didn't tell her anything but a "you'll see when we get there". He made the car ride there extremely uncomfortable, and his way of getting her there was more of a threatening "If you don't come with me, I'll expose you". And then he made it 2x uncomfortable by saying "I like you". How is she supposed to respond to that? Then out of nowhere he exposes her 2y bf's cheating on her. Now she has to deal with ML's confession and being cheated on. Double whammy. And in the boutique, ML's tone is so pissed and he talks about the bf's cheating rendez-vous like he knows everything. (What did she do to deserve all that? And how does he know all that when she doesn't? Why's he angry at her? She didn't ask her bf to cheat, she didn't ask ML to like her. They're just casual coworkers after all.) He blocks her in a room for 2 hours to watch her bf cheat and she can't even have some alone time to process all this because he keeps talking yap.
He didn't have to show it. Sometimes people respond to shock with disbelief so all FL need was time.

What he should've done: Be more considerate. Pull her out into private space with an exit and say "I need to talk to you about something, I know it's none of my business but I saw the BM with a lady at X last weekend". She'll be baffled but at least she got a hint. Then maybe a "If you meet me at X at X-time, he'll be at my sister's boutique". And left it as that. She can go if she wants to see. +Be more sympathetic instead of implying she's a fool when she's already upset.

4. The BM obviously has no idea why his team member is glaring at him since they barely hold a relationship. ML's behaviour towards the BM at workplace and during the meetings were extremely unprofessional and unwarranted. Don't bring private matters into your work, especially when it doesn't involve you. The commentary and hints were so unnecessary + made him sound douchey. If he wasn't going to spill it but he was willing to start beef. I doubt ML cares about being fired as he's already a golden spoon with a supporting rich family. He's young and can start over. I myself don't find it extremely problematic that ML took 1 month to confess as long as he did it for her sake - a few days after his discovery would've been better though. Since FL now knows ML knows about her bf.

Title She Would Never Know Spoiler
Wait, you feel bad for the cheating dude? The one who fr is getting married to another girl all the while dating…
Yeah the dude didn't have to cheat in the first place if he talked it out with the photographer girlfriend. He had the choice to get her the help she needed (despite mental health concerns being absent in asia; though I argue it's 2021 and it would be fresh for them to give a damn), gave her that chit chat about respecting peoples' emotions, and set her in the right direction. He's not entirely innocent and wasn't exactly forced into this marriage, because he did it to himself. All this could've been avoided if he didn't enable her behaviour.

Shame for the actor but not for the character. Plus, if she were going to commit suicide over a love rejection; imagine what would happen if she found out her 'perfect' fiance was cheating on her?
On She Would Never Know Jan 20, 2021
ML has some questionable motives and actions. I don't find him creepy for following the FL's footsteps at her workplace but the way his path to revealing the affair was not his best move. His way of consoling + reveal to FL could've been better along with his choice of words. He kinda seems like a "nice guy" at times. I don't think he's entirely a dirtbag but he handles problems badly + he needs to control his impulses + respect boundaries. I mean what can you expect from these types of korean romance novel? (these types of writers like to be kabedon-ed left and right lol.) Any type of of adaptation from a webtoon-sorts is just a romantic thirst fantasy for young adults, these characters are deprived of any irl social awareness/ issues within the story. I've set the bar low so I don't expect anything but a subpar romance story with that nice sunset gradient cinematography. Just don't think too much. Because makjang-ish stories like these are a routine for me, I'm just gonna sit here and eat this junk food. I can endure this guy for now (if he doesn't worsen) more than the crew at Penthouse.

In the roughest way of wording it:
The title "Sunbae, Don't Put That Lipstick On" is exactly what kind of quality you'd expect just from reading those words (*a slight tinge of cringe). A haughty ML who has only one goal: to get that woman using a shoujo manga as his guide.

Is this any good after episode 1? Found it a bit cringe and couldn't continue.
please: don't listen to anyone, just listen to yourself. If you found it insufferable from the pilot, then leave - things will not get better. I assure you. I personally found it mentally exhausting keeping up with the quality of this drama, in addition to an unhealthy addiction for user opinions. And that's why I chose not to continue. Not going to speak for a majority of niche population here, but if you don't want to - you don't have to. There are many alternative choices of dramas. After all, junk food will never make a healthy snack.

why am i here for it
Nothing wrong with shortening dramas if it betters the quality. I emphasis *hate* when dramas spend the same 10 episodes to leave conflict unresolved. I've been arguing these years how much kdramas should take a break from the regular 16/20/etc. episodes; if they don't need it. I see so many dramas that begin with so much potential - but due to the plot dragging, as a result: I no longer have the attention span for it. If you look outside the kdrama zone, american or european shows, jdramas, and plenty get exceptional reviews because the story is told at the right time and right pacing. Kinda like a Grey's Anatomy (how tf is that still running??) vs. the Good Place. I love that they are making changes like these. A story whether short or long can leave a long-lasting impactful impression on someone - only if the quality + story is good throughout. I do get where you're going at tho. I sometimes wish I could stay with the cast a bit longer just for their chemistry.
On Birthcare Center Nov 3, 2020
Good first episode. Comedy wasn't too outrageously loud and ridiculous like some other kdramas. Humour was more on the maturer side. Husband's good to his wife and supportive: he didn't suffocate his wife with the burden of having children/ was well prepared for emergency childbirth/ still treats her like a wife despite her becoming a mom (hopefully continues that way since korean motherhood makes many women lose their identities).
And lastly, poor jiwon. Someone give her an iced americano.

Is it me or does this show give SKY Castle 'vibes'.
I can see style similarities but other than that - It's just the poster connoting high class and european endeavors. They're nothing alike and It's like a darker comedy.

they're having 20 year olds act as middle schoolers THIS SENDS- not only that but they dont even act like middle…
haha I had trouble believing any of them being middle school 16 y/o when half visually looked like they went hs and the twins were in college.
On The Penthouse: War in Life Oct 28, 2020
Ep 1 & 2 (imo) conclusion: is an emotional trainwreck that makes me angry, upset, and much more because the characters are so difficult. There's so many families and so much individuality for them to show but in summary, they're all jerk-y rich with status inferiority issues, and it's taking an emotional toll on the kids because they're turning out just as bad as their parents (and maybe even worse). I also have to question why do all the kids want to get into classical singing (and how genetics even allowed all of these kids such powerful monotonous soprano voices) when it's such a saturation on top of saturation in such a tiny industry.
I know that Eugene's the representative of heroic justice in this hell of dehumanized beings, but the writer makes it so hard to continue just to watch her growth. Ro Na, would was born from un-wealth is becoming like the rest of the intolerable kids in this story. She is at a stage of teenage rebellion, but blaming her mother for not coming from privilege and faulting her also for the manipulated competition; knowing about Eugene's tensions with Soyeon, makes her a disgraced daughter (even if Eugene went overboard and made up but last minute supporting her competition entry conflict). Don't even get me started on what the other families are like.

This is truly makjang, but at a frustrating level diminishing it no different than the ones I watch in daily and weekends. Great cast but execution could be better. As frustrating as it's last heir and a third-rate derivative of (I'd hate to mention it:) Sky Castle before it got spoiled by rising attention.

Anyone know how many episodes will this drama have ? Or what day does this air on ?And do we only have one ep…
It airs on thursdays nights and you should expect about ~10 episodes (nowhere I know is telling me the exact number). Unlike korean dramas, japanese dramas typically air 1, 1 hour episode kind of like american television shows.
