“I wonder what producer he had to sleep with to get this role.”??? Why would you say this?
Are you talking about the sleeping with the producer comment? I’m aware.
I just don’t vibe with downplaying the real issue of people in a position of power exploiting their workers for sexual favors. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ he can be called a bad actor without that sort of comment, I literally would not give a single crap otherwise.
“I wonder what producer he had to sleep with to get this role.”??? Why would you say this?
You’re the one blowing your top, writing me an essay, and calling me a sjw just because I called your comment shitty and crossing the line lmao.
You’re free to write whatever you want! I am also free to criticize whatever you write, especially on a public webpage, I’m glad we have come to an understanding as to how conversations work, good day. :)
“I wonder what producer he had to sleep with to get this role.”??? Why would you say this?
and it wouldn’t kill you to be just a little nicer to not make a comment on how an actor probably slept with the producer to get the role but here you are, calling me stuck up but okay?
I don’t even care if you think his acting was bad or if this show is bad, but the casting couch comment was just a shitty thing to say that crosses the line. Sorry someone had to call you out on it instead of letting you be. Whatever though, just ignore the stick up my ass dude. 🥴
episode 1 was great. reminded me of the movie Hard Candy. episode 2 and 3 are kinda downhill for me though. ..…
Eh. I wouldn’t say Nanno pushed the girls to do anything bad in episode 2.
It’s fine to feel jealous, but all she did was just not be a perfect, kind person. Which is true to real life, not everyone is gonna be perfectly nice or kind, that doesn’t mean they’re asking you to do stuff like let them get raped.
The girls getting mad/resentful at Nanno was understandable to an extent, but basically trading her to get gang raped for concert tickets over being called fat and envy over a crush? That was all them.
I was a bit worried about the pacing of the episode after finding out last week that this is only 4 episodes....but it worked out just fine this week, I'm glad! it didn't really feel rushed to me so I hope they can stick the landing with the next episode.
LOL ... I'm like the rest of you. I was watching Episode 3 and thinking "Well, this is moving fast" ... and now…
I thought her reaction was pretty realistic ngl. She's not "homophobic", just "concerned for her child", which personally, is the type of lowkey homophobia I encounter the most, especially with parents. Most of my family is like this.
She's overprotective, she loves Q and genuinely just wants (what she thinks) is the best for him, but her mindset is still wrong. i personally don't really mind her being like this since we got Uncle Man dropping some GREAT lines in return for that.
I get it if ppl wanna watch trash for fun or whatever reason, as long as they admit the issues when somebody else…
Yeah….That’s pretty much my exact point.
It’s gotten better recently in live action BL but Mame will still always continue to run on the more problematic tropes that people will be used to if they read yaoi. This is actually more tame than I expected from Mame and doesn’t seem any less toxic or concerning than a lot of other BLs I’ve seen recently so I’m a bit concerned about the arguments down here.
Like you said, it’s fine as long as you’re aware and can admit it, especially when we’re consuming content from the romance genre which tends to be chock full of problematic tropes written out for the fantasy anyway. And Mame just churns out bad romance novels…it’s her thing.
tbh as long as you're aware that mame's stuff tends to contain problematic elements, it's fine lol. i find trash fun to watch but it's more concerning when i see people not look over the media they consume with a critical eye more than anything else.
if anyone is concerned so far, ep1 does not contain rape. relatively light sexual harassment? yes. it doesn't go beyond kissing.
I'm seeing complaints about Q's mother. It's quite clear she has zero problem with being gay - she didn't even…
"and third, the boys are not competing - it's really Frank and Toy that are dragging Q along - he's not engaged at all and is thinking only of X. And when he does allow himself to be dragged along, it inevitably backfires against the 'competitors'."
Yes, exactly. The only times Q ever seems to do anything is either when his friends are pushing him or when X taunts him.
I'm the type of person who usually doesn't enjoy these types of plots where a character is romancing someone under a false pretense, (ex: i kinda hated The Half Of It), but it doesn't really bother me here since Q honestly doesn't...seem to care, and Mook doesn't seem to either. imo, I don't even think he believes that he likes her, he maybe just finds her pretty and attractive but he's so totally disinterested in her as a potential love interest lmao.
