I really want to watch it but, I haven't really liked any of OYS dramas...so might wait until its complete
I love her but there are certain roles she does brilliantly and others she kind of spoils. I'll second the recommendation for Mad for Each Other, it's great all around. And if you ever get in the mood for a long crazy makjang, Jang Bori Is Here was worth it for me.

CGI on their faces? What do you mean? I didn't notice anything like that.
Well yes, but I think they're going way beyond filters. It's weird and unnatural and doesn't look like human skin. Watch a closeup scene of Idol I then watch a closeup scene of this.

Moderately enjoying ep. 2 now and I do recommend skipping the first 25 minutes of ep 1, you don't miss anything.

I'm a big Oh Yeon Seo fan and I say this with love but it looks like there is massive CGI on the faces of the two leads and I hate it. I don't think it's just bad lighting and makeup. It's weird and I hope it stops. But I enjoy the leads, so as long as the story and side characters give me just a little, I'll keep watching.

I didn't notice those inconsistenies about him but you're totally right! I just wish it all added up to something more substantial. I hated getting told instead of shown about his relationshipe with U Seong in ep. 9...

Yes I'm glad they didn't drag it out. But now having watched ep. 9, I am just frustrated with these writers lol

To me, they are treating him like he's a child not a hardworking veteran. He should be able to figure out that she concealed being a fan out of respect for their professkonal relationship. Yes, it's clear that he fee's alienated, alone, and betrayed by all the a**holes in the business who abandoned him. All the more reason to trust her.
What still makes me mad is that she still hasn't told him how they met. Why not? It could have been a really sweet moment and made the remaining episodes better. But of course they'l save that for the final episode.

Personally felt a little off about why La ik got so pissed about her being his fan. I mean you are a fan of someone…
I agree. I'm watching ep. 7 and the nonsense continues. I really hope they don't spend any more time on it.

I felt the same watching the first episode but I enjoyed the second. It's too soon to tell if there will be anything more than recycled tropes with so-so execution, but for now I trust than Nam Ji Hyun can be choosy about what she does.

I have never heard of Go Ahead and had no idea this was a remake or adaptation. I did not finish this drama. I did not read your whole review either, and I didn't need to because you confirmed all my worst suspicions.

By the fourth episode I found nothing of interest to look forward to. None of the charm and pathos of the early traumatic scenes survived even that far. To say the way the teenage siblings' relationships were puzzling would imply that they were somehow interesting.

This should have been a character-driven story, but instead the characters are made to do whatever supoorts the plot. But even the plot isn't interesting. You've outlined it well so I don't need to add anything. I just found myself uninterested in any of the plot or character developments. They didn't mesh, there was nothing organic or gripping or intriguing. And it's not bad acting. It's an insipid story.

Title The Matchmakers Spoiler
Is this not good? Why are the ratings below 8?
It starts out excellent but gets weighed down by some palace intrigue that IMHO didn't belong, and/or just didn't work well. It failed to balance the light & fluffy with the fratricide, mariticide, and filicide.

Thanks, this is my take too. I kept watching for 13 episodes but this is the blandest, most boring thing. The main story never really got interesting, and the character relationships never developed much either. Really dull story, really dull writing.

I quite enjoyed 2/3rds of the drama and then it became a little too self-indulgent. Too much pathos-ridden romance…
i agree about Go Doo Shim, she really gave that role some heft. I like that the relationships were more complex than the usual K-drama, and it wouldn't have worked without a performance as strong as she gave.

it bothers me so much that Min Woo Cheon was whispering throughout the entire drama. I mean, Pyo In Sook supposedly…
i forgot but you're right, her hearing loss is important at the beginning but then it completely disappears from the story! I guess i just forgive it, along with all the running around town the three musketeers did, which was of course absurd for patients in a hospice! because the emotion of the story, for me, more than kept me interested.
