It is hypocritical of people commenting over mingtan’s personality. To be honest, this characterisation is as…
exactly 💯 judging a historical character Using contemporary morals and values is a disservice to the drama. MingTan's character is authentic to the period.
I thought skipping episodes 37, 38, and 39 and watching the finale episode would allow me to minimize the dark bloody evill nature of the later half of this drama. NOPE,,,,,,,,,,over 30 minutes of more blood spitting, sword fighting, and more death of major characters. and once again the ML fights off a small army all on his own. Superman !!!! UGH........not an enjoyable drama for me. Its like having a nightmare that you can't wake up from.......it was tourtous.
Yea, it was a HE but that was a very small part of the total drama........I endured it but would not recommend it.
it's slow and intentionally unemotional on the male lead's side.....I'm trying, but it's slow going. The FL has literally fallen for an "emotionally unavailable" man. In this case she will likely do more than the psychologist helping the ML to get over his trauma. Not sure I can watch 20 more episodes of her trying so hard.
sigh.........two dreary episodes this weekend..............but not as sad as I thought they would be. But stilll, I would like to see these kind of dramas accurately tagged: 50/50 .... 50 rom com 50 mello. It would only be fair.
Ji Eun was the FL in One Dollar Lawer and Again My Life. Jung So Min has likely had more lead roles ........... together they really do make a strong leading cast of females.
Well so much for Love Next Door being an ice cream and lolipop Rom-Com. I feel like I was conned into watching a fun lighthearted drama only to have it do a 180 at the end of episode 8. It's OK........I have the power to chose to watch something else..........which I will.
Although, I'm angry and disappointed. I was really looking forward to watching Hae In and So Min together. She was giving a stellar natural and fun performance. Hae In's character was a rather serious one but its not unusual to juxtapose frenetic energy to a more Melo character........... Hae-In typically is drawn to more melo roles.......... since he accepted the script.........was it because it WAS a Mellow Drama?
Episode 3 was epic!!! I can so relate to the story: 1) The hyperactive friend that won't let one lay around and be depressed 2) discovering ones own dreams beyond an over controlling parent. 3) Staying true to your principles versus a slave to money. 4) Redefining your dream when it is taken away.......rediscovering one's purpose. 5) which is better.........hard work versus privilege ?
I copy past this post on the discussion to refer to it to the believer of the sad ending. This is a happy ending…
I understand your post...... then in this case, the editors should have kept editing and cut out the soldiers coming in on their horses. That made that final scene confusing. It should have ended with Duke Su and the jade hanging from his mouth looking up at the sky ....cut . next scene .... him riding to her on the White horse out in the field. Then there would have been no doubt about his survival.
Amazing .........39 episodes + 30 minutes made a very exhilarating steamy drama. Loved it............Our bad guys pay the price, our leads get married,...........................And then our heroes go off to battle and we know for certain our best guards get skewered and at the end of 40 its almost certain our ML dies too. But then there he is riding a white horse to their now fully grown tree. HUH? Is this a dream or was that the good guys galloping in to save him?
Thank goodness the director gave us the happy ending Band-Aid for those of us that didn't want the drama ruined with a gruesome and horrific end. As far as I'm concerned its a good way to ruin a drama.
Prior to watching the movie about the senses: wind, fox etc............she was moved by Pyo's free class. Pyo taught how to understand literature with passion........he didn't teach the answers to the test. So it wasn't Jun Ho only that selling the same teaching method.
I'm 12 min into ep 10..Pyo wtf r u on about ..what is your problem..I swear it doesn't revolve around you..please…
I'm with you on this meeting of his with Ms. Seo. His point was ??? was it to blame her for quitting his teaching position and to throw down the gauntlet now that he's at the competition? he certainly is a snoozer of a person....how could he attract students?
A quality drama full of emotions carried all the way through to the finale. A beautiful ending. Loved it. I need to re.-watch it to catch all the many details I missed.
I am so glad I didn't put off watching episode 15 this morning. It was light hearted, funny, emotional, and finally the good guys are winning.
I especially loved catching the reference to the Legend of the Blue Sea comic book owner turned private detective played by the same actress. I wonder how many other references I missed. I loved that the writer dusted these moments into Queen of Tears. It will be my goal in my second viewing to catch them all.
My fingers are crossed for a happy ending tomorrow and some romance time for our leads.
Episodes 9 and 10 were absolutely fantastic! Now I have to remember that not only do I need to sit down with my coffee, but I have to have the tissue box right next to me. It is a roller coaster of emotions from giggling to happy to bawling. What an amazing drama....in a class of its own.
