But ep 15 he kissed her n he din remember. N that bratty XH princess pick up the shoes n says it is hers. Hope he doesnt go n marry her n made her primary consort... Like in FR dream. But looking on the bright side, she burn those shoes... Meaning when she married SW (su wan), there will not be that pair of shoes. Change in destiny hopefully.
In her dreams, he is cold n she is submissive n she is very helpless - her father died, her sister died from labour n her brother died. she died in the end (buried alive in the coffin ) because SW died. Thats why she wanted to escape him all this while. Hopefully its a story of will to change ones destiny.. I cannot take a sad ending or open ending like yunxi.
After all, she already changed her sister destiny. She is not married yet n will definitely have good romamce with WBQ. Little brother also did not died from poisoning from the help of SW. Looks like it is heading along, with SW in her life, things can turn around.. In a comment by someone who read tje book, it is FR gettimg second chance in life. In drama they change to prediction.
I have watched till episode 17. While i like that 1. the story does not drag over petty misunderstandings over 5- 10 episode like some drama or 2. 2nd FL or 2nd ML intervention and disputes get settle in 1-2 episode plus 3. the General ML has very very good lines and vows (which in mandarin really makes me melt) and his character is very consistent. 4. the two leads has convincing chemistry and some nice moves like spinning out of water kiss etc
But I m getting very unsure about the FL character. The synopsis says she is helping general to settle his problems in unconventional ways (meaning she is intelligent and street smart) but up to ep 17 i had not seen any significant intelligence from her. She is always making a ruckus and pretty much get into trouble which needs him to get her out of. EG her upset over princess maya and consistently getting drunk, super nonsense way of trying to help the 9th princess, she got caught by enemies during eagle clan visit with no ability to get herself out, her stay with her family when he has to always tell her to keep calm. It is not showing her intelligence at all. looking at the comments below many are feeling annoyed by her - drunk, annoying, spoilt, bad tempered, pretty much becoming an airhead. with 13 episodes more to go i dont know how the script can convince me she will be intelligent at all. In fact most of the time she is not even understanding.
In fact the general character is keeping me on the drama - smart, knowledgeable, calm, loyal, kind and most importantly he treasured her and really loved her to bits to wanting to spoilt her. in episode 12 i think he told his brother it doesnt matter if she loves money and not him, as long as she stay around. he makes me fuzzy as more episodes past.
The part of how she become his superior is not well explained. Xiao sut is the emperor's bodyguard sent to check out on the situation of the camp and also on the general and his wife as they are rumoured that they are not getting along and hate each other and that is affecting the army camp. so happens he is her childhood friend and he was indebted to her for helping him and rou rou. i believe he was given certain power by the power and after she left the general in that emotional episode, she prob bumped into XS who was on the way to the camp and knowing XS, he prob helped her by giving his own power to her. i understood it like that. but it is bad they chop off those explaination. makes it feel too sudden.
Episode 7 as well. FL is really persistent and ML is really gentle. Only thing is their emotions fluctuates abit…
I totally agree with you. I think the story plot, acting, the leads, sets, costume all are very nice. but i dont get the fast pacing. FL lead declared her love at ep 4 and ML finally gave in Episode 8. But in between there is not much reason why FL falls in love so fast. feels really weird. Begiining of episode 4 she still want to barter trade with him when he asked for help with the lock. end of Episode 4 she not only like him but fell in love. Ehmmm....Sorry, a bit lost here. and you are right. their emotions fluactuate so much, i feel lost. one moment she is so spoilt and noisy and next she turn thoughtful, one moment he want to divorce at her and next they are having a meal together hmmmm....bad story writing maybe.
But the acting is good. FL character actually very annoying (rather spoilt and she thinks of all sort illogical childish solutions), again i am a bit lost but acted by this actress it is quite acceptable. She looks pretty and adorable. ML character is more consistent, cool protective loyal and then he warms up and be gentle with her. so far it works well on his part. And they look good together. but the CP feel has not reached Sleepless Princess level i would say.
I actually dont enjoy the comedic bit of rou rou having separated with sut sut and she doesnt allow intimacy between the FL and ML. i find it quite tiring to watch. and the double dating and double action by putting them in the same frame (eg roof scene in episode 9)....i dont really enjoy that. i prefer to see the ML and FL develop their relationship and just focus on them with the sides as fillers. Hope they dont do many of that anymore. and hope this is a build up to a strong relationship where she uses her intelligence to help him overcome their enemy and without too much unnecessary angst. Hope everything will make more sense as the drama progress.
