really suprised how many negative comments there are. truly, this isnt a masterpiece but it's entertaining enough. I think the acting and characters are all well done and though the drama is frustrating, the flow still makes sense to me.
Obviously in the end everything comes back to personal preferance but it is a fact that this series was made to watch weekly and they did a great job making it fit that format. For more fast paced kdramas, it's sometimes an absolute torture having to wait another week for a new episode. With this series however, I didn't feel that way. The plot and pace just fit the format of weekly dramas perfectly.
Firstly you should watch the official trailer for this which was released in Nov 2021, the one you saw was a rough…
Thank you for your input on your perspective. Of course I watched the official trailer. I see how these scenes could be interpreted in such a way, unfortunately I just don't interpret them like that. I am intetested in the subject, just not the way it is shown here. This series 'tells' us too much instead of actually 'showing' it and that does not work for me when it comes to this concept. I will keep watching and I am hoping that I will start seeing what you are because it sounds like you're having much more fun than me :)
This is one of these series that are much better when you watch them weekly. Binging this would have probably bored me to death as the development of their relationship back to lovers is ultra slow. The episodes aren't packed with one exciting happening after the other, like we are used to in kdrama, instead we just have two leads who are consistantly not being truthful to themselves and to each other when it comes to their feelings. Those tiny moments in between, where they cannot hide their true feelings anymore and their painful longing for each other becomes plainly obvious, are what drives this show.
I'm trying so hard to like this series but I just don't. I am just bored. They have emotional discussions about politics and social issues like no tomorrow but barely show us anything that's actually happening outside of their friend's group. Granted, episode 7 gave us a bit more in that regard, but that still can't make up for how little actually happened in the first 6 episodes besides talking: White made some realisations about how one-sided he used to see the world, Yok fell in love with an absolute stranger and the friend's group broke into places. That's it. The romance between the main couple is now slowly starting to develope, seemingly out of nowhere. In episode 6 (if I'm correct), Sean made a huge deal about White's arm touching him while he was asleep, then a few hours later he almost chokes him to death. Next scene they meet, suddenly they're holding hands under a pride flag.
I loved the teaser that came out a year ago. I love Gun and Off together, always have and always will. But this series is just not it for me.
Apart from the children's romance and the typical Netflix lets-end-it-on-a-cliffhanger-so-we-can-do-another-season-if-its-a-hit ending, I really enjoyed this. Good show to binge for sure.
For anybody who goes into this series without checking the genre or what the plot is about, I feel like your "warning" is justified. The first few episodes are untypically lighthearted and comedic for a melodrama. They truly do not prepare you for the drama and heaviness that is about to come. However, this series is and always has been advertised as a melodrama, which means that you will be faced with dramatic, tragic or maybe even uncomfortable issues. The purpose of this series is not to depict flawless characters in love. So obviously, if you go into this expecting to be served eyecandy and lighthearted romance only, then you are bound to get disappointed.
It was so unnecessary and a real slap in the face. I’m so mad!
It's kinda ironic. Pildo told her that revenge turned him into this ugly monster and he wanted to stop her from becoming a monster as well, but at the same time it was Pildo's death that finally made her able to go through with killing Moo Jin. So if she had never fallen for Pildo, she might have never been able to kill Moo Jin. He was thus the last push she needed to reach her goal which means his death wasn't unnecessary to the plot. However, I still hate it lol.
I went into this not expecting or needing any romance. When I got it, I was positively surprised. It made me feel like whatever shit happens to you, love can give you hope. And then, like 4 minutes later, they kill the dude. Great. Now I'm sad again.
This series ended up being much darker than I anticipated. Not something to watch when you're already having a bad day but otherwise insanely interesting and captivating. The sentence "Everybody is doing it, so how hard can it be?" really stuck with me.
I almost missed this one just because of the comment section. This drama got too much unnecessary hate when it…
In the first few episodes, the thriller plot was not just a side plot but it got the main focus. That precisely is why a lot of people are disappointed now. They hooked us with the thriller and then shifted focus after a few eps leading to the thriller plot being completey overshadowed by the romance. However, I have to admit that based on the synopsis and mere title of the series, we (the disappointed viewers who wanted more thriller focus) could have seen this coming lol
The heavy thriller aspect in the first few episodes was SO good, I was convinced this drama was going to be amazing. But then the healing romance became the main focus, the murder mystery had less and less to do with the actual main plot and in the end I just didn't care about anything anymore. I am left feeling utterly disappointed.
Everybody kept getting mad at me for saying that until Ep 6. I think maybe LBC has a warm spot in everyone's heart…
I honestly don't know how anybody can look past his terrible acting "skills" and get mad at you for pointing that out. Who cares how beloved he is. He just sucks as*.
I will keep watching and I am hoping that I will start seeing what you are because it sounds like you're having much more fun than me :)
