I completely agree with you about the execution of the whole series being weak. I am such a big fan of s1 but s2 disappointed me in so many ways. They just really fucked up.

I just don't agree with you about the part where you say Tharn took a huge step back, as in he didn't mature. He was faced with a crises he's never faced before, I don't think his overreacting in that sitiation means he isn't a mature person or that he should have trusted Type despite everything. He's depicted as real person with real flaws which brings me back to my initial point: Couples aren't perfect even if they are together for long and TharnType surely will never be a perfect couple which is to be expected based on their clashing personalities.
The statement "Kdramas should not contain bold gay relationships" is definitely wrong because what the hell is…
I think I misunderstood. I though that tintin92 was saying that they believe kdramas shouldn't include bold gay relationships. Sorry about that.
But even if the country is conservative, there isn't any rule that says dramas like this cannot contain gay romance. We are actually getting more and more gay kdramas (recently there was one uploaded on Netflix called Wish You).
But about Mr. Queen specifically, I don't think this could have been considered "a bold gay relationship" even if the chef had stayed in the Queen's body. The chef's soul was fusing with the Queen's soul and they were kind of one person in a woman's body... there is far too much woman there for it to be "boldly gay" ?

I think you are forgetting Tharn's trauma from before he got together with Type (maybe you aren't aware of it because you didn't read the novels and they didn't talk about it much in the series). Everyone he dated left him for ridiculous reasons, many of them cheated on him. It's very understandable that someone who's made multiple experiences of being cheated on would react that way when seeing the love of their life kiss another person. And about what Tharn saw or didn't see that day at the parking lot: We don't actually know. He saw the kiss, that's for sure, but everything else is just assumptions from our part because it wasn't shown to us. BUT Type is very secretive about his romantic relationship/s so Tharn could have also thought that Type hit Fiat for kissing him in public (and not because he didn't want to be kissed). Anyway. I think the plot between Tharn and Type made a lot of sense. Everything else was a problem for me. The other forced sidecouples who took too much screentime and weren't interesting enough is what pulled this show down. They should have just stuck to the novel...
I think the ending was OK. why? As far as i know, Kdramas should not contain bold Gay relationships( correct me…
The statement "Kdramas should not contain bold gay relationships" is definitely wrong because what the hell is it about gay relationships that you think shouldn't be shown in korean entertainment media? Please be careful before you make any more homophobic statements.
This was such a weird show like so much of the first season didnt make sense. The relationship between Tharn and…
This is the page for the second season so either you accidentally watched the second season first and mistook it for the first season or your comment is on the wrong page.
The BEST scene of this whole drama was when Manwol and Yunwoo saw each other again (episode 10). The feels. The…
I think the point of his appearance was to show Manwol that what happened so long ago doesn't need to define her anymore, as Yunwoo ended up getting together with the woman who had him executed in his past life. But I honestly wish he had had a more crucial role in the whole show and more scenes with Manwol. So much wasted potential. But then again... maybe the producers saw the chemistry and were scared the audience would start seriously rooting for their characters to end up together and that wasn't a direction where they wanted to take the show? Idk. We can only speculate and be disappointed in the decision they made lol
Everyone here in the comments who says that TharnType don't act like they've been in a relationship for 7 years and that they havent made any character development are either ignorant or have never been in a longterm relationship themselves. Or both. Being together with one partner for long doesn't mean that you'll change into a different person just to adapt to your partner. Growing up doesn't mean you'll suddenly be super reasonable and never make mistakes. You'll still fight about petty stuff and overreact every very now and then. Especially a character like Type wouldn't suddenly be a soft boy when his personality is originally very hot-headed and feisty.
I feel like people complaining about the dynamic of their relationship expected them to suddenly be different people. Well, they aren't. It's still TharnType and if you didn't like them in their first season then I don't understand why you're here now and complaining about them fighting. Go and get a hobby that you actually enjoy.
There was potential for a love line between the ML and FL but it never developed into anything. There are a few "almost" moments that make the whole thing very irritating.
It's an interesting and enjoyable series but I still regret watching it. At the end, we are left with a cliffhanger and none of the issues get resolved. Not even a little bit. I would be fine if there was a second season coming but so far there aren't any plans for that. And dont even get me started on that irritating FL.
We saw love blossom between 2 characters for 19 episodes and in the end they get seperated and the king ends up with a character the viewer barely knows. Need I say more.
