Thank you for your comment, was it the movie good or was it just the ummie?
The movie was great. The cinematography was spectacular and the ummies were awesome and utilized in a beautiful way to add more depth and character to the story.
Thank you for this piece. This is an article I didn't know I needed. Its very creative and I like that it has a serious rather than a silly tone. Got me remembering a lot of dramas and scenes fondly. Although it's not a drama, the ultimate Ummie has got to be the group of Ummies from the Chinese movie Shadow.
Maybe I should try re-watching this drama. I started but did not finish the first episode. I was not sold on some of the characters. Lee Hee Joon is awesome. I loved Park Hae Soo in Prison Playbook but not as much here.
I love your list. I would like to see the Lofty Fierce Consort and Thousand Miles of Bright Moonlight adapted also. There have been a few dramas where they handled transmigrated /reincarnation plots really well,e,g Joy of Life. Honestly scared about novel drama adaptations lately after The General's lady and Jin Jiu Ling. I don't mind the change in scenes or even the story but when the essence of the characters are stripped away, just saddens me.
historical dramas are no fun because everyone is always dressed the same. absolutely no historical variety in…
Can a drama even call itself an historical drama without corrupt ministers ?! I love historical dramas tho. Even though there are some repetitive themes some are done so well that it doesn't feel that way. Shout out to six flying dragons.
