I haven't noticed this time round. The only thing that takes my attention is when in every drama they eat those…
There was a period where dominos, subway, or quiznos showed up in just about every drama to the point that it became a game about "when will they be dramatic over a sandwich". Pizza product placements always crack me up the most, though. Because nothing says romance like some slimy, greasy slice of underwhelming cheese that both actors probably want to avoid eating at all costs. Whenever they bring a piece to their mouth I swear you can feel how much they want nothing to do with pizza.
Hong Jo getting kissed as a cat then immediately bolting to lure her out so he could get a human kiss is hilarious. It's so very cute and it makes me wonder how this story will end.
The scene with Kim Sol Ah and Eun Ji Eun crying over boy troubles and blaming it on the spicy tteokbokki was perfect and hilarious. Having characters that initially aren't the most likeable getting development in a way that lets them grow on the audience and redeem themselves is very refreshing. Eun Hi Eun is quickly becoming a favorite and even Lee Jae Sun managed to grow on me by not pulling a cliche nemesis move and trying to use Hong Jo getting kidnapped to put a wedge between Hong Jo and Kim Sol Ah. Instead, he facilitates clearing up the misunderstanding by showing Kim Sol Ah the peaches. I love it. It will be interesting to see how communication continues to work as a theme in this show.
I'm so glad the pacing issues from the first few episodes seem to be resolved. Things aren't dragging along anymore, which makes being engaged with the show so much more enjoyable! It looks like theycut down the episode count, which imo was 100% the right move. So many shows commit to dragging things out to reach the "right" number of episodes and it ends up breaking what could have otherwise been a fun show.
So far these episodes just get cuter and I'm really glad I didn't drop the show. Hopefully it keeps up! :D
This episodes seemed better than the past 2 weeks, which as a pleasant surprise. Hong Jo giving a cat massage was hilarious, interactions between FL and ML2 seemed more natural, and now that Hong Jo has established himself as the stepbrother with FL's friends the actual stepbrother is about to show up. Excellent!
Wait so, the second lead didn't want to see the FL because he thought she left Hong Jo as a kitten? And at the…
Yes. And 2nd ML was abandoned as a baby. Because he believes FL abandoned the kitten and he was abandoned himself ML2 views the action as a dealbreaker.
Unfortunately, episodes are already relying a lot on repeated flashbacks. While it could get better, repetitiveness tends to get worse as a show progresses. It's a shame, too, because the concept is interesting... but making a show longer than the content can fill often takes the fun out of watching it. There are other ways to create a slow pace that doesn't rely on showing the same scenes over and over again. It shouldn't take an entire episode to cover what could otherwise be done in 5-10 minutes. It doesn't help that plot relies on a misunderstanding that could be fixed with sentence. Trying to justify that with "they have a cat personality" can go so far.
I'm really.... confused... am I the only one who thinks neither of the new bodies act like the previous ones?…
I think party of why they seem different is because everyone around then is testing them differently. Since they're being treated in ways they aren't used to, they're responding in ways that are new.
i disagree with your second last sentence. They are bad. just bad. first two episodes of good drama can be very…
Yes, they can be. Personally, I think the show is headed in a direction that we, as viewers, weren't expecting based on the premise (though I could be wrong). If so, unconventional approaches can sometimes pay off big time - or they can blow up in your face. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. So far there has been a decent amount of subtext and foreshadowing and I'm hoping I'll get to see what comes of it.
If you're thinking about watching this show, but some of the comments here are giving you pause, let me add some clarification:
Many people are upset that the show is calling Bo Young ugly. The show never actually does this. The idea is that Go See Young went from smoking hot to smoking not. Even then, she's repeatedly stated in the show as being average in appearance, not ugly. So the character goes from a tall actress with the right outfit, heels, and makeup (to flaunt what she's got) to a shorter actress in clothes, flats, and makeup that is trying to create contrast and not show off the actress's good looks.
Because this is a TV show people.
It's 2 episodes in. The episodes are fine and setting the groundwork for the rest of the show like most first episodes do. They're neither great nor bad. They simply are.
