I think the girl Choi Juwan and his friends assaulted and murdered was Gong Chan's stepsister. (They were both wearing pink hoodies when found.)The chairman covered it up and framed Chan, but Soojae knew the truth, so she tried to protect him and helped him get out of prison. And maybe she was tasked with the cover up for Choi Juwan, which led to Chan being framed, hence why she detests handling any more of his fuck ups. And the woman shown at the care-home could be the stepsister who somehow survived and is being kept in check by Baek Jinki the law school director, to use as a hidden threat against the chairman in case he pulls something.
The take where Gong Chan gets into the elevator with Soojae was shot so well. With them standing side by side it was out was everyone to see. His tall self towering beside her, and her narrow shoulders next to his wide ones. It was screaming 'this is a man and a woman', contrary to how it earlier seemed like a grown up and a youngster. It gave me butterflies in my stomach. Or maybe I just have a fetish for body proportions?
Personally, I don't have a problem with the age gap in this one, though I understand why you'd be uncomfortable,…
I think he's much older than just 20. Considering his jail time, and him getting his GED, working and studying which obviously took a few years based on his changed appearance; I suppose he'd be in his mid-twenties. And Soojae in her early thirties, because she didn't go to college.
Idk why everyone hates it but I just love the angst in this one. Portrayed so well it really makes tears fall. You can really feel the love radiating out of them. It's like every single atom of their bodies merged with each other and there's no way to pry them apart. So beautiful.
Lee Youngdae's serious face being all lovey-dovey makes it all the more heart-fluttering!

I cried when Taeyang asked Taejun to sleep with her. She's so broken, she needs him to hold her together so she doesn't fall apart. And when she thanked him for loving her, you could see in Taejun's eyes that his heart was breaking for her. She thinks she doesn't deserve to be loved. I haven't seen such a subtly deep scene in a long while. The actors are phenomenal. I'm going to remember it as one of the best.
