Alot of comedy from the beginning and confusing flashbacks but starting from ep 11 is where the main plot and angst begins. HXM and Victoria have good chemistry but their acting can be over the top and cringy at times.
People have been complaining about the poor green screen which most Chinese dramas suffer with but we're not even half way through the drama and it has already more CGI than 60 eps of Ice Fantasy or Legend of Chusen so it's hard to complain.
As for the story goes, it's definitely worth the watch because Tonghua's Once Promised is very meaningful and not the typical love song as these characters matures over time.
Despite some over the top acting from both leads, some messy green screen and confusing start, eps 9 - 12 had me hooked. Those eps were really well made and I like how the story is getting serious when A Mo leaves Chi Yun.
The production is sadly very inconsistent with awkward green screen. It's feels and looks like a typical Xianxia drama than a war epic which the trailer misled us into thinking. Also HunanTV really butchered the look of this drama making everything too colorful and bright. I can't fault ZLY's acting though and the plot gets better over time. Ep 5 is my fav so far
I feel like we've been blessed with so many Chinese historical dramas this year ^_^ I can't wait! By…
Over expressive and inconsistent at times...She was poor in Beautiful Secret but fairly decent in Ice Fantasy. This drama have complicated characters so it'd be interesting to see how it turns out. I will be watching this for the story as it's Tonghua's work (Scarlet Heart)
....I can't believe they ended it just like that. It felt incomplete or were they pushing for a second season like Ode to Joy? Nevertheless amazing drama
no much of a c-drama watcher, so would you recommend it? and if so, why?
Yes I'd recommend it though the slow pacing may put you off. However the characters, progressive romance and great acting makes up for it. Also it's not dubbed.
Based from the reviews, it's really good..but is it really?? I've read from a lot of blogs that it's…
If I was to describe Ice Fantasy in one word it would be 'shambolic.'
The first ep was a mess, it gets better once the Dream Tribe are introduced, then it feels so draggy with undeveloped characters and has an ending which ties up with the confusing first ep but feels rather pointless. I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch all the eps of Ice Fantasy but there are individual stand out eps which are thoroughly enjoyable.
