Is the sister now Jung Da Bin or the other girl that wants to get close to Noksoo? I don't get which one it is.. and JDB isn't credited or anything, the sister's actor is unknown both here and asianwiki.
This is much better than the other HGD series imo. I watched the other one and x-ed it out in the first scene…
Is it kind of like Gu Family book? Or Hwarang, scarlet heart(the happy times)?
I tend to not like the overly modern lighthearted sageuks because instead of forgetting they're just putting on costumes and pretending to be in the past, that's all I'm thinking. But I can handle it if it comes of as natural.
I like the drama but I find a bit disturbing that the one playing young Prince Eui-song is same one playing the student who's helping Ji yoon.. I hope they don't get involved or something it'd be so weird
This is much better than the other HGD series imo. I watched the other one and x-ed it out in the first scene because I couldn't take it serious. The modern action music annoyed me but this is very very well done.
Have any of you seen bridal mask? What is happening to Wook reminds me so much of Shunji, the second male lead. They were both so nice and good and no one would think they'd become dark. And, the first male lead in SH and BM is cruel and the beginning and then they become soft puppies.
I have a hard time believing that Wang So is really Gwangjong. Wook on the other hand though I could totally see…
Gwangjong's personal name was Wang So, not Wook. But, I think they are shying away from history, anything else would be too predictable and unoriginal. Let's cross our fingers!
any reason? To me it's alright, but not breathtaking like usual sageuks. But I've seen shows from this writer before, the story is "OK" until around ep 30-40 then it becomes much more exciting.
Right now FIP isn't horrible, but I wouldn't recommend it to the busiest man on earth..just a nice popcorn show in the weekend.
Ergh..dubbing a live action is rarely good imo.. Always comes out fake and a big part of acting is the persons voice. I wonder how the actors communicate they probably don't know much english maybe they have translators following them around..
Ha joon (king dude) has better romantic connection with Ok Nyeo . I hope writer make king as main role not support…
I don't think Tae Won will become evil. The point of everything after Oknyeo got sent away wasn't to turn good to bad, but to entwist a conflict of allianses. My friend's friend is my enemy and my new friend hate my old friend, sorta thing.
Anyway I'm dreading to see if she ends up falling for the king because according to history they can't end up together. They already made that a point with Deukheung's future.
I'm a sucker for romance, so is there a love story worth mentioning in The Flower in Prison?
I didn't notice anything until Tae Won gets jealous of Ok Nyo and another guy. It was nothing vioent or serious, just pettiness, but yea I don't see it as romantic when we see jealousy before we see romantic affection. :/ I won't say much, but Ok Nyo has three potential men she might end up with. You could see the writer's other works too if you're curious at his tendencies, he's written a lot of dramas.
The show's decent but there are many negative things too? The main character, I'm a bit tired of hearing from eeeevery character that she's the most beautiful, the smartest, the most incredible peculiar girl they've ever seen. It's so bad the king should've his hyung meant Ok-nyo when talking about this fantastic girl he'd met. They're not wrong per say, and it makes sense for her to know the hacks of life through her prison friends. But, there is a thing called, 'show, don't tell'. I do like that she's a 'strong female character' and I've missed female protagonists, but she doesn't need to be an expert at everything she does. It's all too convinient imo. I wouldn't call her a mary sue, but she's definitely OP.
Another thing is her fighting scenes. She should've had a stunt-double. She's way more skilled than she looks. And, there's one moment that still baffles me. The king's ROYAL GUARDS were all knocked out in one hit by some thugs, which is bad in itself. But then Ok-nyo defeats them singlehandedly!
The actress goes from bad to OK depending on who she is interacting with and what she is feeling. Right now she's hanging out with Ji-hun and she has 3 facial expressions and the word "nauri". Hopefully in sunday's episode, she'll have some emotional reunions.
On to more positive things, Jung Eun Pyo is always a delight, I'm truly enjoying Sung Ji-hun, the chaetamin leader has peeked my interest, and the secret birth plot is old - but not bad. Jung Nan-Jung reminds me of Jang Ok-jung from Dong-yi, or even Mishil. Of course not as awesome as them, but she's still a formidable foe.
I'm at ep 26, I'm wondering does it get better? Like it's not bad, but it's not good enough for the hype and 81…
Don't worry about the grammar!
I finished it a while ago, it got much better, or at least more exciting. Took a while though. I hope this happens with Flower in prison too. It's hard to explain because they're not downeight boring, but good kdramas usually keeps me at the edge of the seat u know?
All in all the best sageuk writer is Kim Young-Hyun. She wrote Jewel in the palace, tree with deep roots, Seondeok, SFD..all great dramas.
