too naive?

this is a good episode, except for how naive the characters are in some parts. how could they so easily believe the emperors that literally just threatened to raze a city of innocent, weak mortals to the ground? i understand qingkui's thinking because her biggest flaw has always been her naivety, but chaofeng and yetan? it's hard to believe they'd have zero suspicion about the celestial emperor and the void tyrant's promise

so now we're supposed to forgive him?

well the incredibly predictable "he put her through hell to protect her" storyline with the human emperor and yetan has finally arrived. and as predicted, it's illogical and corny and so pointless. why do the cdrama screenwriters always feel compelled to give these monster fathers some form of redemption?

the three emperors in this show are absolutely…

the three emperors in this show are absolutely maddening. horrible fathers, all three of them, and i hope they all meet gruesome ends. unfortunately, i have my predictions for their fates: the void empress will end up killing the void tyrant and seizing power after he defies her, the human emperor will get a redemptive arc where everything he did to yetan is "for her own good" or some bs like that, and the celestial emperor is going to screw with the seal on guixu to get youqin under his thumb again. there are definitely more evil tricks up his sleeve, and i pray qingheng isn't stupid enough to talk to him about dongqiu. youqin was awesome this episode-- i really do love how the characters in this show stand up to the emperors, like how yetan yelled at the celestial emperor after youqin died, or when chaofeng was going to be executed and qingkui straight up told the void tyrant his son's death was his fault. idk maybe i'm just too irritated by the emperors. they've all lived too long-- it's time for at least one of them to die, and i think the first one who kicks the bucket will be that dumb, indecisive void tyrant

i'm tired of the soul shard arc

this has been going on far too long lol. it's fun seeing everyone in the mortal and beast realms, but i'm ready for shaodian youqin to come back. i hope it'll happen next episode

yetan slays

i am so obsessed with yetan cursing out the emperor! so refreshing to hear. now i want to see her do the same to her crappy father. qingkui and chaofeng are cute but it makes me anxious to think about when she finds out he's been lying to her. poor qingkui, there is no one in the void realm who has been sincere with her. my heart breaks for both sisters-- yetan for her difficult childhood and qingkui for her current life in the void realm

why is feng qi still alive?

actually, feng qi didn't need to be imbued with that obsessive demonic energy. he's evil enough on his own. every time i see his face i start swearing at the screen. i think it's a bit ludicrous that shi qianlv hasn't been killed yet, and i definitely want him to die already, but the feelings i have about clearly villainous characters like shi qianlv is nothing compared to the overwhelming sense of disdain i have for that dumb feng qi. and what, we're supposed to pity him? feel for him? ridiculous. this is my second time watching this series and i thought this time, i could force myself to tolerate feng qi (and all related plot lines). i really tried not to hate him so much! but it was of no use. because he's completely terrible

and the award for worst character of all time goes to...

feng qi is actually insufferable and he ruins every episode he's in. tbh this series would be a lot better without him

will we ever be free from this dumb trope?

i stg it's like the screenwriters of thai gl are all operating under a shared delusion or something. how many more times will they obliterate a story by making a character's homophobic and controlling parent have a heart attack the moment their child finally stands up to them? it was absolutely infuriating in gap, yet for some reason the industry was so attached to this ridiculous and unrealistic bs plot line, that they doubled down and used it in the secret of us and now this? i am so sick of it!!! and the characters always respond the same way: by immediately giving in and being the perfect, filial child. i bet pheem's dad will be redeemed by the end of the show (because bad parents always are in thai dramas) and he'll let pheem and kie be together when he sees how sad pheem is without kie. ludicrous.i'm only giving this episode 3 stars instead of 1 for the NC scenes lol
