The plot is a little all over the place but that doesn't stop it from being super entertaining. The real gem of this series is how great the characters are together. Despite all the goofy shenanigans and melodrama, the four main characters and the delightful supporting cast never feel too over the top or unrealistic. Everyone has great chemistry and their grounded personalities make each episode feel very rewarding as the story slowly unravels the deeper layers. It's a very odd show tonally, with a few missteps and cringey moments that might be hard for some to get through, but if you aren't bothered by cringe comedy, there's real heart to this story of found family between four guys. I did not expect to love this show as much as I did.
someone in this rancid comment section had the audacity to call Hioki's actor chubby and it made me so mad I wanted to faint. There's nothing wrong with being chubby but to imply Hioki's actor is in any way chubby because he isn't conventionally thin like most of these bl actors is craaazzzzy. The toxic beauty standards really need to stop, like if you genuinely think Hioki's actor is overweight you need to step outside and take a breath.
The show isn't bad as such or badly acted, but it's messy - as are many of his other shows. He generally employs…
I disagree with your opinions in that first paragraph, of the series of his that I've seen it's never once felt phoned in and all the messages each series attempted to convey were delivered with emotional clarity. People can have their opinions but again, I still will never understand the vitriol his works receive by parts of the fandom.
And 2Gether I believe to be over hated. Is it dated and flawed at this point? of course. But context is important. It was a sweet comfort show amidst one of the scariest times in modern human history for a lot of people, its no wonder people have a trauma bond with it. I think H2H is better obviously but the shows have five years of growth between them, and I don't dislike 2Gether its just older.
Agreed about Keen, he is a genuine talent and I hope GMMTV realize what they have.
1st episode in, hope it is to my liking. is it an easy watch?
I wouldn't necessarily say it's an easy watch, though I guess that depends on what you mean by easy. The first 4 four or so episodes are pretty light with a mix of goofy comedy and some drama thanks to the main plot, but after that the episodes get particularly heavier as the story goes on. The last two thirds of the show still have some good romantic bits and comedy but the overal atmosphere can feel heavier due to what's going on. It's not an overtly dramatic show, but it's definitely not an easy breezy show either, so proceed with however much angst you think you can handle.
it's gonna take me a while to move on from this series. it was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time and the finale was so sweet and lovely. I will never understand New Siwaj hate. SeaKeen will forever be my favorite GMMTV pair. ❤️
The themes in this show are so simple but at the same time so deeply profound if I think about it too long it starts to make me cry. All both of them wanted was more time. Everything happened because they just wanted more time to love each other. We as humans waste so much time when we are afforded so little time in this life. I am so glad J and Jinn were able to get the chance to love each other for longer. I'm going to miss this show so much.
I loved this to the very end. A sweet lovely wrap up to a show that has consumed my life for 12 weeks. SeaKeen, SurfJava and JJ all played their parts brilliantly and the story stuck with me and touched my heart. It wasn't perfect but damn was it fun, funny, romantic, scary, intriguing, devestating, sweet and tons of other emotions I felt over the course of the show. It couldn't have ended any other way really for this kind of show, and I'm grateful for that. I love this show so much. ❤️
Here to preserve this feeling before the finale tomorrow. From the pilot trailer to now I've enjoyed this show to the fullest and as sad as I'm going to be to say goodbye, I'm thankful to have been able to go on this journey will all the other SeaKeen fans. JJinn forever ❤️
This has easily been my favorite drama of the year. Sea and Keen and everyone else have done a great job and the episodes have fluctuated from laugh out loud funny, deeply romantic, to edge of my seat stressful and it's been the ride of a lifetime. Here's hoping they stick the landing this Sunday 🙏
I honestly don’t care about anything else either. They have my heart, and I’m going to miss them so much.…
truly they are the beating heart of this show and watching them reconcile on the balcony made me realize how much nothing else matters but their love for each other, such a lovely scene for them. I've been enjoying the whole show. I'm not bothered by Van or the mom or the dad because I understand how stories and conflict work. J and Jinn's happiness is the most important thing to me for my enjoyment of the show. Loved this episode.
Oh I just love JJinn so much, I love them so much I don't care, I don't carreeeeee. I'm fully expecting all the negative comments that are gonna flood this forum again but I truly don't care, I loved this episode and I love JJinn and I love SeaKeen and how much love they have brought to these roles. People can feel however they want about the plot and the pacing and the FarmVan of it all, but this show has had me since episode one and nothing came change that. Ive loved every moment of the journey and I'm sad to see it end next Sunday. I love them, I love them, I LOVE THEMMMMM ❤️
This show has had a lot of varying opinions on it by virtue of being more popular and having more eyes on it than SeaKeen's previous works, but whatever people feel about it, I have truly enjoyed the last 10 weeks and am looking forward to seeing how it all ends next weekend. I love SeaKeen and JJinn and will miss this show terribly when it's over.
