This season is doomed from the start. Long gap after season 1, major cast changes, one week hiatus, low budget (than s1) streaming platform barrier, s1 fans gatekeping and so on. Even if there is season 3, better have a LOT of patience cause you're gonna have to wait for a while.
Seriously, even Flower of Evil got more coverage in news than this. And that was a late night drama on weekdays. And if there's any talks, it's almost always those complaining about cast change or costumes and what not.
Inspired by Monte-Cristo? That is just false advertising. It's an average revenge story with typical cliches. Only some of them may be similar to the novel. Even that is still reaching. ML do not have the half of charisma and manipulation that the count had in the novel. Smh.
really great! Dean Fujioka is the best. He stole every scene he's in the drama. This is better and more faithful to the original story than the Hollywood adaptation of the original novel
I love this story because ML actually falls for the 2nd girl and the ending is on the level of shakespearean tragedy. They dragged the 1st part and rushed the 2nd part. You won't feel satisfied with the execution. It's a good story tho
How could another actor have elevated the role of KHW? I quickly browsed through the comments and saw no mention…
If you look at his filmography, you'll see he has played that kind of role for half of his career. I'm not saying his acting is the weak point. I'm just saying that he's playing the same character again. So it's nothing new and not interesting. Honestly, this kind of role is easy for him. But it's perfect for an actor who's starting to get famous. That's my opinion. And it doesn't help that his last drama had better writing.
I've said before that Lee Joon Gi shouldn't be casted as KHW. And I stand by it. Not because he did a bad job. It's the kind of role that he usually takes. He won't mess it up. But he also can't elevate it. That's why I said young and upcoming actors should have played KHW.
Okay. Shinobu and Tenchou plot line was unnecessary. C'mon. The story's funny and I had a good laugh. But that's it. I had to skip Akabane and Tenchou since they've become unbearable.
Why younger actor? Just curious. Since he is really not even old actor himself, what age range would you like…
webtoon MC roles are better for 20-something actors who just starting to get famous or idol actors with a huge fan base. Actors of his age range and experience should play villains that elevate the plot and push MC's limit
I feel like he's not the right actor for that role. It would have been better for a younger actor to take that character imo. Btw, this is just lawless lawyer with a few twists thrown in.
I dropped it. A word of caution for people who have watched the animation series: forget about the animation. Watch this series with a clean slate. Otherwise you won't enjoy it.
edit: I've finished watching it. The series is slightly different from manga. But it's a good adaption. I hope we get a continuation for this drama.
