I think we have to wait for official confirmation of FULL cast before adding anything on mdl here because for now we only know 15 rumored actors from like 50-60 overall and who's gonna play who first (we still don't know if Mu Qing & Feng Xin will get different actors than Fu Yao and Nan Feng, same with some other characters) and it might take a while. Zhai Xiaowen, Chang Huasen and Liu Lingzi are basically confirmed now as they were all spotted at the reading script place and were all wearing the same custom shirts with little butterflies (looks like they were made exclusively for the cast/filming crew). Zhang Linghe wasn't wearing one but was also seen at the same place few times and is rather confirmed.

One thing i really really hope for is that someone got it wrong and Pei Ming's rumored actor (Xu Xinchi) will actually be playing Pei Su. No offense i just cant imagine '02 liner playing PM, he looks like a baby to me.

To be honest, it might go both ways. He's far more experienced than Chan Ka Lam for sure, but he also directed more movies than dramas and that would also be his first BL drama while CKL already has The Untamed under his belt. His movies seem rather dark and mature, with lots of fighting scenes and wars, but there's a lot of scenes like that in TGCF too so i wouldn't be worried about that. But if the cast was already chosen it might get changed too and overall filming might get delayed. So yet more waiting.
