Again, I’m not saying I know everything about this specific situation, but I really hope some of the people in these comments learn that abusive relationships aren’t just ones where people get hit. A lot of the time, the reason a person doesn’t leave is that they are manipulated into thinking they can’t live without their abuser. If a person is told that they will be left if they don’t get an abortion, that is manipulation. Saying you’ll marry someone if they do is also manipulation. To say she should have known better is condescending to all victims.

The last time I checked, believing and having sympathy for victims of abusive relationships isn’t bullying or manipulation. However, calling someone an idiot for being manipulated by someone they trusted definitely is.

To all the people saying that you can't force someone to have an abortion: I hope you know how awful that is. If you are in a toxic relationship and made to feel as though you have no choice, then obviously you might be forced to do things you wouldn't do otherwise. It shouldn't matter that it's an actor you like. If you're going to advocate for the right to choose, you have to advocate for those who had no choice. I'm not going to pretend that I know the ins and outs of this particular story, but the amount of victim-blaming in these comments is sickening. If you wouldn't say what you're saying here to a friend in the same situation, don't say it to anyone. As for KSH, trust me when I say your time and love will be better spent on someone/something else.
