that's your opinion, imo arin and sanha have more chemistry and arin is eating it up... and she's such an eye…
Well, yes, of course it's just my opinion. I'm happy for you if you think she's doing a good job. So far I remain unconvinced, but the show has just started so she may yet grow on me. I also don't think she's unattractive by any means, but personally I find Chuu and Park Joo Won to be prettier.
I understand why BL fans are liking this. Yes, it's a gender bender story, but the FL seems to spend more time in her male form and, worse yet, the two guys have better chemistry together.
This may be a hot take, but I'm blaming the leading actress for that. She just has no screen presence whatsoever. I don't know if it's the writing or the acting, but she comes across as really bland, and the guy playing her male form is slaying it. I'm not much of a kdrama watcher anymore, so I don't know if she's a well-known actress or not, but I'm really not impressed with her at all.
Annoyingly, practically all the other actresses in the show have much more presence and would probably do a better job in the lead role. The sister, FL's best friend and the meddling love rival are all tearing it up, and then there's her… just sort of existing. It's not great that the only reason I'm even buying the straight romance is because the two male actors are selling it. I mean, that's great for them, but at this point this might as well be a BL...
Also, I don't quite get the ML's bestie. He seemed kinda grossed out in the beginning when he was asked how he would feel if his girlfriend changed gender, and that seemed like a standard "no homo" moment, but as soon as he met the FL's male form he was immediately all over him, without knowing he's actually a girl. At this point there's no way he's not at least bisexual. Funnily enough, it turns out that the actor playing the bestie was a lead in a BL drama a few years back, so I wouldn't be surprised he was hired because he's comfy with LGBTQ roles.
So yeah, there's more than a couple of reasons why this show would appeal to BL fans. Overall, I think this is a fun show, but I really need the lead actress to start bringing it.
