He got deceived by his other alter ego from “my heroic husband” lol
I think It's just a fun reference/shout out. It suggests this is happening in the same world and timeline as My Heroic Husband! I though I was going crazy when i saw it at first because it was the exact same sequence, until he made the reference to Qilin and Geng. lol Here is a tweet about it with a side by side comparison. https://x.com/AJLYN456/status/1924308631245496644?s=19
The cousin is an interesting study. Not sure why the actor is getting so much grief for playing him. What catches…
I haven't seen any of the comments giving him grief, but I think a part of the reason people found it unconvincing could have been the hairstyle, like, what was the curl at the back of his head? It was so distracting I couldn't take anything he said seriously, lol. And he also added an oddly effeminate touch to his character through acting. Like some of the hand gestures and eye rolling/facial expressions were a touch... flamboyant? Feminine? All of this wasn't subtle either and was pretty exaggerated for effect. It was obviously a deliberate choice in the actor's interpretation of this character, but I don't know, for a famous womanizer/rake, that was an odd one imo.
Lolol that scene where manman sits on the rocks and asks him if he can explain why he needs to go in person cos it's too complicated and she can't understand is literally the period equivalent of the modern "topper girl asking her crush to tutor her in math" trope
My man literally brought the map from his last life😂😂(My Heroic Husband). Hopefully he does not brings his…
haha I was looking for this comment! I haven't finished My Heroic Husband yet but loved the reference! I like the idea that this is set in the same world and is happening parallel to My heroic husband since I'm watching Heroic Husband too XD
Not groundbreaking but very enjoyable so far! The editing is kind of wacky at times, with some continuity issues. Also, it kind of bothers me how FL is in full makeup with a red lip even during the middle of the night and up from bed lol, and her dresses always have long trains that are constantly trailing behind her on the ground, even on occasions where it's hella inconvenient and makes no sense, like going on an outing with the purpose of walking around and climbing to a high vantage point lol. Oh, also, there's this part where the FL has a super high fever and sick from what I'm assuming (they provided no explanation) is an infected burn, and the ML's solution is to carry her through this really heavy downpour with huge gusts of wind in slow motion, where she seems to get fully drenched. Like, I admit it was a nice and touching visual, but lol, logic where? And a part where the FL's Nanny goes, " We knew it was going to be hard but not this hard" Like, woman, what did you think was going to happen? You're literally entering the turf of your archenemies, aka a den of wolves who will pounce and tear your lady apart at the slightest chance. Moreover, your lady is apparently married to a cold, cruel, and ruthless man hell-bent on revenge on her family. I dread to imagine a scenario where the ML wasn't as decent and honorable as he was here. Like the FL was completely at their mercy with no backing at all from her family, who were both cowardly and weak. They had no reason to treat her well apart from being decent. So I was kind of surprised at the general unfounded confidence, lol.
But anyways, coming to the pros, I lovee the FL and ML, both actors and characters, so far! The characters are nicely written with adequate depth and motive, the acting is lovely, they look cute, and they have nice chemistry. (Also, we're getting a lot of the ML's backstory, but I'd also like to know some more of the FL's story/childhood, etc). I think the production and cast is really nice with an interesting and engaging plot! And it has just the right amount of angst, making me really feel for both the leads. The comedic parts are done nicely too. No huge issues or complaints so far; I honestly want to know how they're going to take the plot now. I find it hard to imagine a healthy romance between a woman who was raised by and loved her grandpa the most and defended him to high heavens and a man who witnessed his father, brother, and grandfather get brutally murdered because of the man's betrayal and understandably hates him to the ends of the earth. I wonder how they'll develop it. I think I'm starting to see it, but I wonder if they'll add a plot point where the Wei family generals were betrayed by that Uncle Wei, which is actually the main reason why they lost their lives. But yes, to sum it up, it may not be the greatest out there, but it is still enjoyable and gets you hooked and wanting more!
Gosh, I'm in ep 13 and in so much pain 😭 So far our protagnost seems to be helpless against fate, she doesn't seemed to have really changed anything for the better, those who died in her past life, died again and even those who didn't previously have now. Our leads seem to be losing again and again, and fighting an uphill battle. When does it get better? 😭😭😭
can someone who has watched the drama and read the manhwa tell me which one is better ???
So I watched the first episode and decided to give the manwha a try, especially since the manwha ending was supposedly better. But Jesus the manwha was so bad. I read the first few chapters and It’s so poorly written, there’s no logic to the plot, everything is so rushed. The premise is interesting enough but character motivations aren’t explained all and the storyline and characters are all so unconvincing bordering on comical. What really makes pushes it over the edge is the art. It’s not the art style, I love varied styles but it’s just bad. Like the perspectives and the proportions and expressions are all off or wrong. Sorry say it’s just Pretty bad. I think the entire manwha just felt super amateur work. Not thought out at all For me, it’s just one of the many average mindless logiclrss transmigration/reincarnation manwhas out there. To enjoy it you have to just shut off your brain which I get but nah this was very meh. I’ve read well written stuff, and good Shounen stuff exists to but this is not one of them.
Anyway to answer your question from what I’ve seen the drama actually tries to improve on the manwha. For example in the manwha the grandpa randomly apparently really adores the kid from even before, despite not accepting the dad. The president thing, idk if it’s the translation but bruh. I did not think the Why not support all 3 candidates? Was as mind blowing as they showed it to be. And on listening to kid for the first time immediately calls and asks them to sponsor all 3 presidential candidates like dude…be fr.
The 12 yr old kid also then talks to his dad’s friend the Investor, becomes CEO, opens a movie company for the dad and blah blah it’s just so unrealistic and cringe. But yeah the drama writers made it a tad better and logical.
So as someone who has watched the cdrama Scent of time and currently watching this one, I’ve been told they both have very similar endings. I for one actually was okay with the ending for Scent of time. It gave acceptance of one’s mistakes, closure and hope for a better future. However as someone watching the early episodes of Reborn rich I doubt if I’m going to feel the same about the ending here mainly because in the former, despite rooting for and empathising for the protagonists we know she has made mistakes and committed terrible deeds that she was punished for and we come to accept that there’s no running away from one’s mistake and the debt has to be paid. However here from the get go we see the MC despite all his competence, hard work and loyalty being treated as subhuman and everything he has endured. Now we want revenge, we want him to successfully get back at the villains for wronging him. We know he’s innocent and there’s no reason for the ending of “accepting” the unfairness. There nothing that he owed them and no mistakes he made unlike in Scent of time. That’s why believe this ending might be less satisfying than Scent of time. I also watched Life in Mars, while many loved the ending I found it to be super sad. Here he was just “escaping” into his imagination. That’s why I liked the Scent of time ending because the MC not to do the same and face reality. I liked the. Again my life ending and wish This had a similar ending.
